While Tyler Herro has grabbed all of the summer League headlines, another former Wildcat is consistently putting up impressive numbers.
Thursday night Wenyen Gabriel knocked down 4-of-8 three-pointers to score a team-high 18 points. He wasn’t just standing behind the three-point line prepared to take open looks. Gabriel also grabbed eight rebounds and blocked four shots in the 83-80 loss to the Clippers.
Through four games in Las Vegas Gabriel is the King’s second-highest scorer, averaging 13.5 points, 6.8 rebounds and 2 blocks per game on 47% shooting from the field.
Gabriel’s former UK teammate, Isaac Humphries, scored three points in eight minutes of action. A few other numbers from former Cats last night:
— Hami Diallo shot 50% from the field to finish with 14 points. He also threw in seven boards and a pair of assists in the Thunder’s five-point win.
— Aaron Harrison was just 1-of-4 for the Boston Celtics last night, finishing with five points, his average through four Summer League games.
— In 13 minutes of action, Reid Travis only took three shots for the Atlanta Hawks. He finished with two points, two assists and six rebounds.
