BBNBA: SGA and Fox Go Head-to-Head

(Photo via NBA.com | Clippers Digital)

Good afternoon, folks. It was another slow night in the Association, but one that featured two former Wildcat point guards pit against each other. Let’s talk NBA.

RECAP

Clippers – 133 @ Kings – 121

  • De’Aaron Fox and Shai Gilgeous-Alexander went head-to-head in their first-ever meeting between the two. Both played incredibly well, shared similar stat lines, and showed the world that these two young guards have a good chance to be the future crop of great NBA point guards.
  • Fox went for 17 points, three rebounds, and nine assists on 6-13 shooting while SGA also went for 17 points on 6-9 shooting including five rebounds, four assists, zero turnovers and – most importantly – the win.
  • Maintaining the trend, Willie Cauley-Stein added another 17 points for the Kings on 8-13 shooting plus 10 rebounds – his seventh double-double of the season.

Other notes

  • As I wrote earlier, Brandon Knight is planning on suiting up for the Houston Rockets G League affiliate on Friday night for the first time since his ACL surgery in August of 2017. The Rockets desperately need any sort of help from their bench and a healthy Knight could go a long way to help fortify that second-unit. I’m very curious to see what version of Knight will be on the court when he does step back into an NBA game.

This is why I wish they stayed at UK another year or two. I never watch the NBA.
