YAHTZEE: Kentucky adds three-star athlete to 2018 class

Kentucky picked up a new commitment Tuesday night when Ashtan Pierre, a three-star athlete out of Florida, announced he will join the Cats’ incoming class.

Pierre picked UK over several offers from around college football, including heavy interest from South Carolina, as well as LSU, Miami, Michigan State, Oklahoma, Ole Miss and many others.

He plans to sign as an early enrollee next month.

Go Cats.

Need to land high 4* and 5* star as well if we are to make another step.

Given that recruiting services are run by people not knowledgeable enough to actually be coaches, we can fairly assume that their rankings are less accurate than the evaluations done internally by pretty much any actual coaching staff. That’s why many former three-stars like Randall Cobb are now in the NFL.

Exactly STE, Bowden was only a 4*; but I think you could say he was a 5*…based on what I’ve seen.
I only wish he wouldn’t go home at halftime.

What position does he play? Is he an offensive or defensive athlete? I’m hoping he’s a defensive back athlete.

    Stars look great on paper.

I’ll take the kids with heart and fire, regardless of stars, like Cobb and Woodyard, on the field all day. If they got the stars, too, great!
