YAHTZEE! Four-Star Safety Moses Douglass Commits to Kentucky

@MosesDouglass

One of the best defensive backs in America is following in his father’s footsteps.

Four-star safety Moses Douglass announced he has committed to Kentucky over Alabama, Michigan, Ohio State, Louisville, Wisconsin and many others.  Douglass’ father Maurice was a safety at UK from 1984-86 prior to an 11-year NFL career.  The elder Douglass now coaches his son at Springfield High School in Ohio.

Moses made the announcement on Twitter following a visit to Lexington for Spring Practice.

A consensus four-star prospect, Douglass is a Top 25 safety in the 2019 class and is considered the No. 312 player overall by the 247 Composite Rankings.  He is the third commitment in Stoops’ 2019 recruiting class, joining four-star Florida safety Keontra Smith and three-star linebacker KD McDaniel.

It’s a l-o-n-g way til signing day, but great pickup if he follows through!

Would normally agree but hard to see this guy flipping as long as the staff is still intact {which it should be}. Great get and once again love the direction Stoops and staff have us headed.

Craig Yeast’s son seemed to be a lock as well. But I hope you’re right. Cats!

I agree it’s a long way to signing day. But Moses Douglass’ dad, who is also his HS football coach, played football for UK. Anything can happen, but this commitment is safer than most. I think Moses will keep his commitment. Looks like this class will have a big impact on UK’s defensive unit.

I was hoping that he would come here.

You can keep changing your name all you want. We all know you’re not a real UK fan. Slater or whatever your flavor of the month is.

It’s getting hard to say which is more numerous on this website, the number of annoyibg popup ads or the nunber of annoying troll posters.

Awesome news. This staff has done really great things considering where the program was before they arrived.

We will never see him here, Ohio St or some other big time program will get him on campus and he will reopen his recruitment before the end of year and he will commit to them

My version of Yahztee – until they sign LOA and by that i mean letter of intent not leave of absence!

    5 Stars anyone…??!!

    1. drew_123

You know in the history of recruiting services Kentucky has only received 1-2 5 stars? There are only roughly 30 5 star players in each recruiting class so the odds of landing one at school not named Alabama or OSU are slim anyways. Just keep enjoying the talented players we are getting.

Yeah, he sounds like a solid commit…

Douglass, a 6-foot-2, 186-pound prospect, visited an Ohio State spring practice on Monday with his father (Springfield head coach Maurice Douglass) and teammates. “I talked to Coach [Urban] Meyer while I was there,” Douglass detailed. “He told me that he and some of the other coaches on the staff believe that I could play at Ohio State and that I have the ability to do that”.

“They just want to see me compete, so they probably just want me to come to their camp for real. Getting that offer would mean a lot. Being an Ohio kid, I used to like them a lot and I was a true Ohio State fan and all of that. It would mean a lot.”

  17. notFromhere

Of course he can play at The Other State University. He should know that already.

Urban Meyer likes to play mind games with kids, doesnt understand commitment (ask UF), and really likes the players UK recruits. Doesn’t get them all, though.
