WATCH: Madisonville fireworks tent blows up

If you happened to be standing on the streets of Madisonville, Kentucky at 4 a.m. this morning, you caught one of the best Fourth of July fireworks shows ever. A fireworks tent in downtown Madisonville was set on fire, causing all the fireworks to go off at once. Randy Bolliger captured the footage and posted it on Facebook:

Firework Tent catches fire in front of HUCKS South Side, don’t know how just wanted to show everyone the video

Posted by Randy Bolliger on Thursday, July 5, 2018

Madisonville police told 14 News this was one of three fires last night, two at fireworks stands. Thankfully, no one was hurt.

Now THAT’S a fireworks show! How was it that someone happened to be filming before it started? Did they throw a match in there? 🙂

      That’s my first suspect

Was there supposed to be a fireworks show in Lexington last night? I sure didn’t see one.

I’m suspicious of that whole thing. Seems too convenient for a fireworks stand to burn up only hours after their demand dries up for a year. Also, how does a fireworks stand catch fire at 4am? No wait, two fireworks stands.

I didn’t think KY sold those kinds of fireworks. I usually have to go to Indiana to get the ones that explode in the air

I think they are legal now but even if not it’s typically worth it to the vendor to sell them in the back of the tent…if they get caught they pay a small fine that isn’t even a dent into what they make from selling them.

I more easily believe someone just happened to get this on tape than the Hanson bank robbery. However, I do agree that it is very suspicious that it caught on fire right before the discounts. But as a lifelong Hopkins County native I do believe that someone would be at that intersection at 4 am. It is a fairly busy intersection.

Fraud, knowing my hometown . The police & courhouse probably engineered the whole thing

Yeah, the police and courthouse is making big bucks off that South Main fireworks tent…idiot.

Would have been better if he didn’t record it all in portrait mode. People need to learn to turn their phone around for videos.
