It’s good to see money has not changed Kentucky’s all-time leading rusher. Benny Snell is gonna Benny Snell.
Following his first NFL workout with the Pittsburgh Steelers at rookie mini-camp, reporters asked Snell about how he closed out games for the Wildcats, even though everyone in the stadium knew he was getting the ball.
“That’s just Benny Snell football,” the running back said as one reporter cracked a smile in the background. When asked to explain what exactly is Benny Snell football, Snell replied:
“Benny Snell football is — it could be second and three, third and three; it could be fourth and two, fourth and goal, third and goal or four-minute offense. It’s just feeding him, feeding him, let him run it up. He’s going to get up. He’s having fun. He might dance a little bit, but he’s gonna run back, he’s gonna do it again and everybody in the stadium, both teams know what’s happening.”
Snell is prepared to do whatever it takes to make a difference for the Steelers as a rookie. “I’m willing to fill my role in whether it’s on special teams, offense, defense, whatever they need me for, Benny Snell’s going to do it at his best.”
