UofL assistant basketball coaches put on paid leave

Today in University-6: assistant coaches Kenny Johnson and Jordan Fair have been placed on paid leave, effective immediately. Louisville just announced the news, with this statement from acting athletic director Vince Tyra:

“We are in the process of executing our due diligence as it relates to an ongoing investigation and feel that this is an appropriate step at this time. Our university will continue to fully cooperate with federal authorities in their investigation.”

That leaves one-time assistant and now interim head coach David Padgett all alone to man the ship. Good luck, man.

I heard Padgett is exploring the ins and outs of the job. “Now that I’m in, how do I get out”?

I’ve heard UL has agreed (under the table of course) to pick up all expenses at McDonalds if he stays.

Only at the one next to the track stadium 😂

Any word on the UNC report?

UNC report has been pushed back. No announcement today.

I thought exploring the “ins and outs” was the previous scandal?

I’ve never coached before, at any level. But, I wonder if I called the U of L athletic department and asked for a job, would they give me one? I bet their salaries are better than mine.

I think as long as you don’t drink beer and don’t play golf, you’re in 😂

hopefully they will not need any bball coaches for a while.

Fair looks EXACTLY like you would imagine a UL assistant looks. Slimy like Masiello.

Padgett, reportedly, was in Vegas with Johnson and Fair on July 27. Guess Louisville figures they can’t get any more trouble than they already are (1:36 mark)

They should bring Crum in (to the degree his health permits), or someone from the Crum era, as an unpaid mentor/assistant/whatever. Padgett is an unknown, and UofL needs a ‘publicly trusted’ person in the mix.

good luck? No, I hope he fails miserably. Loserville deserves that.
