Mark your calendars! The Kentucky women’s basketball program has announced this summer’s camp dates, and there’s an option for everyone. There are three different choices this summer: the Wildcat experience camp, the Little Wildcat camp and the team camps. Each one is targeted toward a different group of young players.
The Wildcat experience is geared toward individual middle and high schools players who want to develop their fundamentals and all-around basketball skills. Participants will get to learn alongside the staff and current players, while also working on position development. It will take place on June 13 and costs $75.
The team camps are similar to the experience described above, but entire middle and high school teams can participate and develop as a team, rather than as individuals. Games will be played inside Memorial Coliseum or the Joe Craft Center and will have certified officials. The camp is open to high school varsity teams, high school JV teams, club and AAU teams. There are two sessions being offered: June 10-12 and June 19-20. To participate, there is a $100 team fee and a per-player fee, determined by how many games the team will play.
And finally, there’s the Little Wildcat Camp, which is geared toward younger players – kindergarten through the 6th grade. The one-day camp will have a morning session where kids can learn basic fundamentals of basketball, while the afternoon sessions will include fun (non-basketball) activities followed by basketball competitions and league play. The camps will be held on July 15-18 and costs $225 for the full day or $125 for the half day.
