Hello, friends. Editor-in-Chief Tyler here with a few site notes as crest the hill of another long, summer week.
We’ve heard from a lot of you that the site has been loading very slowly the past few weeks. We’re aware of the issue and are working on it. Without getting into a bunch of boring details, that’s happening because our site design is really, really old and needs to be redone. That’s on tap for later this year, but for now, make sure you’ve got the latest version of your browser and flash/video player. That seems to have corrected the issue for some readers. Once again, we apologize for being stuck in the neolithic era when it comes to technology.
One of the ways we’re making up for it is a ton of content coming your way over the next few months. As you’ve surely noticed, our new recruiting analyst TJ Walker has been killing it, most recently going all the way to Canada to bring you an inside look at future Cat Tyrese Maxey. With the summer evaluation period starting next month, he’ll be back on the road to watch Kentucky’s prospects in the Peach Jam, adidas Gauntlet, and other major tournaments. Around the same time, Nick Roush will head to Atlanta to cover SEC Media Days, and a few weeks after that, fall camp begins for football, which means the site will be flooded with information from Media Day and practices. Brace yourself for talking season.
Then, of course, we come to the Bahamas trip. By now, you’ve heard that the radio crew (minus Ryan) and the Hey Kentucky crew are going, but I’m also going to make sure the site will have exclusive content and behind-the-scenes scoop. Our photographer Dr. Mike will also be there to take tons of pictures of the new squad at work and at play. It’s a hard job, but somebody’s gotta do it, right?
While I’ve got your attention, our stock of Fan of the Day pictures is dangerously low. I know you all are at the lake and beach this summer, so take a picture in your Kentucky or KSR gear and post it to our Facebook page or send it to us via email or Twitter. If it’s good enough, you’ll see it on the site.
That’s all for now. Go Cats.
