UK Athletics reaches 3.0 GPA for 12th straight semester

UK Athletics posted a 3.181 grade point average this spring, the 12th straight semester the department has reached Mitch Barnhart’s goal of a 3.0 GPA or higher. Eighteen of Kentucky’s 20 sports teams posted spring GPAs higher than 3.0, while nine finished with a 3.4 or higher. The highest of all was women’s cross country (3.702), followed by women’s swimming and diving (3.566), and men’s golf (3.508). Way to go, ladies and gents.

The men’s basketball team posted a 2.433 GPA among scholarship players and a 2.527 GPA among scholarship and non-scholarship players (thanks Dillion Pulliam). That’s down from their 2.594/2.689 GPAs in the fall. Meanwhile, the football team posted a 2.713/2.803 GPA, well above its 2.250/2.493 marks from the fall.

Here’s the complete breakdown by sport:

And now, ice cream for everyone with a 3.5 or higher. Except you have to buy it yourself because we can’t buy it for you.
