Today on KSR: The Brow is Back

@UKCoachCalipari

Look who’s in town! NBA superstar Anthony Davis has returned to Lexington to host a basketball camp at Lexington Christian Academy (if you hurry, you can still register). Last night, he swung by the Joe Craft Center last night to say hey to Coach Cal and Floyd’s 99 Barbershop on Malabu Drive to get his picture taken with the giant new mural bearing his image:

I’ve seen plenty of pictures of this mural since it was completed last month, but haven’t fully appreciated just how big it is until now. Very cool. Maybe Davis will play a little pickup while he’s in town? Please??

Early morning basketball workouts have begun

Did you see a group of really tall guys running around campus this morning? That was the UK Basketball team, which has started their summer workouts with strength and conditioning coach Rob Strong:

Team USA takes on Argentina in the FIBA U18 Americas semifinals

Kentucky commit Tyrese Maxey is probably out for the rest of the FIBA U18 Americas tournament, but you can see 2019 targets Matthew Hurt and Cole Anthony in action when they take on Argentina in the semifinals tonight at 6 p.m. The game will be streamed live on YouTube and Facebook.

My nephews rocked John Calipari’s satellite camp in Danville

Allow me to be a proud aunt for a second and brag on my nephews, who tore up the Danville stop of the John Calipari satellite camp tour. My oldest nephew hit a three over Nick Richards and Immanuel Quickley:

…While his younger brother got the best of Keldon Johnson:

I’m headed to Danville today to get a detailed recap of the camp for you, so look for that on the site early next week.

Can someone send Rick Bozich some seasonings?

Because that is bland AF.

Today’s Something Good

…comes to us from Matt Lea, a Mississippi State fan who surprised his father, who is suffering from Alzheimer’s, with a trip to watch the Bulldogs in the College World Series for Father’s Day. This story hits close to home for me in ways I’ll share in the coming days, but needless to say, I’ll be cheering for Gary Henderson’s squad this weekend:

Hail State.

US Open! World Cup!

Will Tiger rebound from a horrible start to make the cut at the US Open? Ehh, it’s not looking great so far. You can watch live at USOpen.com. Fox’s coverage doesn’t start until 4:30 p.m. ET. Dustin Johnson is currently tied for first with Russell Henley at -2.

Meanwhile Egypt and Uruguay are scoreless in the first game of day at the World Cup. At 11 a.m., Morocco plays Iran followed by Portugal vs. Spain at 2 p.m. Both games are on Fox, so you can essentially spend your day watching sports.

The KSR Louisville Golf Scramble goes on sale at noon

This year’s Louisville edition of the golf scramble takes place August 24 at Persimmon Ridge Golf Club. Registration opens at noon, so set a reminder so you can secure your spot to join the fun.

KSR is at Rockhouse Brewing in Lexington

Come on out to 119 Luigart Court to enjoy the show and an ice cold Shannon the Dude Brew. What better way to start your weekend, right?

Shave the brow, and get him a UK uniform.
Bland AF…air force, armed forces; I don’t get it.

Ha ha really don’t get it or just teasing? Just in case you’re serious, it stands for “as f*ck”

      I’m never serious.

It does look bland. It doesn’t look like he even put salt & pepper on anything. Also, if you’re going to leave the skin on salmon or any other fish, you cook it skin side down. How does Bozich not know that?

The first game of the World Cup was yesterday when Russia beat Saudi Arabia 5 – 0. The host nation always plays their game the day before the rest of competition starts.

Article says “first game of the day”, not sure if that was there before or not. Also, why is FIBA U-whatever ahead of Portugal-Spain!?!
