We’re only two days away from Kentucky’s first SEC game of the season down in South Carolina and there’s some serious worry amongst the fan base.
Let’s chat about it, and more…
Mark Stoops will give one final update from the week.
We’ll hear from Mark Stoops following Thursday’s practice before the team loads up and takes off for South Carolina for the weekend. This week’s interview may be the most important of the season as it should give us a final injury update on Jordan Jones and if there is any validity to the online rumor about the injury being a significant one. For what it’s worth, our trusted sources told us the rumor is absolutely false and Jones’ injury is only a minor one, although it still may keep him out Saturday. We’ll know for sure when Mark Stoops addresses the media.
I woke up wondering how Rick Pitino sees six first-round draft picks on his roster.
Man, I can’t get enough of Rick Pitino saying he could have as many as six first-round draft picks next summer. He hasn’t had six first-rounders in the last decade, but he sees the potential in six on his current 2017-18 roster.
Then again, doesn’t he say this every year? I suppose incoming freshman Lance Thomas is as good as Jamal Mashburn was as a freshman, too. (Confession: I had to look at Louisville’s roster to come up with the name of an incoming freshman.)
Preseason Pitino is the best Pitino.
John Calipari met with Zion Williamson last night.
We’ll try to track down Williamson or someone in his inner-circle for a rundown, but for now we’re left wondering how it went. (Maybe Williamson will write about it on his blog.)
The biggest news of the UK-Williamson relationship is he scheduled an official visit to Lexington on the weekend of September 22, one week after Immanuel Quickely and Keldon Johnson take their visits. Kentucky will need to blow him away during that trip if it plans to bring him back as a Wildcat next fall.
Kentucky released its game times for the upcoming basketball schedule.
Check those out here:
The Georgia game is really cutting into our party time on New Year’s Eve. Can we get that bumped back to noon?
Brad Calipari’s profile pic on Instagram is Ryan Lemond.
You’ve made it, Ryan. You’ve finally made it.
KSR is live from Edwards Towing and Rigging in Shelbyville.
Stop 200 Everett Hall Road in Shelbyville to catch Matt Jones and Ryan Lemond during their live, two-hour broadcast of today’s show.
Then tomorrow we’ll be in Middlesboro for Matt Jones Day.
