As if the 2015 class didn’t already have its share of elite big men, Thon Maker is considering adding his name to the list. Maker’s guardian, Ed Smith, told Evan Daniels there is a possibility of reclassifying if he can gain weight.
Smith told ZagsBlog, ““I will monitor Thon’s progress academically and physically. Thon would also like to become more involved with the Australian Junior and Senior National program under coach Lemanis. Playing in the U19 World Championships is something that is important to Thon.”
Maker is the second-ranked power forward in the 2016 class, behind No. 1 overall player Harry Giles. He currently has offers from Arizona, Louisville, Georgetown, and Memphis with interest from Kentucky, Duke, Kansas, North Carolina and Ohio State.
We saw him in the layup line at the Peach Jam last summer and decided he is the best player in the history of basketball.
