Something special is brewing with Kentucky basketball recruiting…

Something special might be brewing in the world of Kentucky basketball recruiting…

This evening, two prominent recruiting edit social media pages, YANN Edits and Tipton Edits, released a potential “dream class” for Kentucky, and some of the program’s top targets seem to be very, very intrigued.

Both accounts published their own specific edits, but the classes were the same in each. Their potential commitments for Kentucky’s 2020 recruiting class? Jalen Green, Terrence Clarke, Josh Christopher, BJ Boston, Isaiah Todd, Cam’Ron Fletcher, and Lance Ware.

Here are both posts:

Tipton Edits

After the pages released their respective edits, the Kentucky targets let the world know that they just might be intrigued with the idea of forming a super class in Lexington next year.

2020 five-star guard Josh Christopher posted one of the edits on his Instagram story with a simple, yet extremely meaningful emoji:

Meanwhile, 2021 top-three prospect and major reclassification candidate Terrence Clarke posted the same edit on his Instagram story with the caption, “Oh my…”

Kentucky commit Cam’Ron Fletcher added the edit to his story with the eyeballs emoji added as a caption, while 2020 four-star forward Lance Ware also added the edit to his story.

You can see all four screenshots on my tweet below:

Confused as to what the heck this all means? Don’t worry, I can assure you it’s a good thing.

To put it simply, Kentucky’s “dream class” includes five players ranked in the top-ten by at least one recruiting service, along with two other top-50 prospects with high potential. And at least four of them are seemingly interested in making it happen.

For those keeping track at home, this would easily be John Calipari’s biggest haul during his time in Lexington and you could make a serious argument that this would contend for the greatest recruiting class of all time.

In the words of Terrence Clarke himself, “Oh my…”

How would you stack up that class vs Dukes if duke got their dream adding Kuminga and 1 more?

  2. Cokely53

Also, who would you expect to run point with that team? I’d love to see Green run it some with his speed.

    1. IrishCat

I expect Immanuel Quickley to be running point in 2020

    2. Cokely53

You’ve made that clear in other post but was hoping jack would answer. And no offense but we’re not getting all of these guys if they aren’t starting. The top 10 guys at least.

    3. IrishCat

I agree, that these guys all plan on starting wherever they end up. Sorry not sorry about continually bringing up IQ as next year’s heir apparent. As good as all of the 2020 guys are, I don’t see any of them being as effective at the point as Quickley would be. I’m gonna keep blowing that horn. To your point, I feel the collection of bigs that we sign will be the best indicator of the overall effect of the recruiting class. Wings are going to be absolutely stacked no matter what.

Toot away. He would be a fine option. Just saying they wouldn’t come if that were the case.

So are we favored by all of these players?

And all those players except Randle turned out to be a little overrated, imagine if that class actually was as good as it was supposed to be.

  7. UKLugo

The pendulum will always swing back to UK.

A “dream” class for 2020 needs 4 bigs imo. For me that’s Todd, Banchero, Ware, and Jackson.

    1. RAGE

Didn’t Banchero already make the statement he was staying in the class of 2021

    2. Kentucky Hoops

    3. IrishCat

He did make that statement. Jack mentioned on his podcast that he’s not entirely sold on that decision being permanent. Also, this is a “dream” scenario, right?

Sounds good. But. It’s not a party until we go undefeated. Then the Michelob Ultra will flow like water and the chips and dips and pickles will be consumed with mirth and merriment. Until then…

  11. BobbyBlue

Banchero staying in 2021 is not necessarily set in stone.

    1. RAGE

Oh ok I just thought I read that… but you are right people have made comments like that before and changed their minds… You are probably right

  12. UKFanSC

    Just pipe dream guys……move along.

  13. bigcat68

We’ll miss on 3or 4 of these guys. And that’s ok.
