Recruiting analysts predict Kentucky football lands 2020 five-star OL Justin Rogers

@AllAmerican52JR

Could Kentucky be landing a legitimate five-star, top-10 prospect in the class of 2020… for football?

A few fairly significant recruiting analysts seem to think so.

On Monday morning, Allen Trieu 247 Sports, who holds a career 91.18% all-time prediction record, submitted a pick in favor of Kentucky for 2020 five-star offensive lineman Justin Rogers.

Michigan State insider Sean Scherer followed not too long after.

Meanwhile, Justin Rowland of Rivals.com submitted a prediction in favor of the Wildcats back on the evening of April 28.

According to Rivals.com, Rogers is considered the No. 10 prospect in the class of 2020 and a five-star overall. At 6-foot-4, 314 pounds, the elite prospect with offers from Georgia, Ohio State, Alabama, Florida, Clemson, and Tennessee (among others) the Oak Park, MI native is listed as the No. 1 offensive guard in the nation.

Rogers has been outspoken about his love and respect for the Kentucky football program in the past, and he proved that interest was legitimate by officially visiting Lexington last weekend. UK was his very first scholarship offer back in 2016, and he has said on Twitter multiple times that he will always have a soft spot in his heart for the Wildcats based on that alone. In his eyes, they were the first to see what he was capable of, so it would only be fair to return the favor by giving them a legitimate shot when it comes time for a decision.

And according to multiple different analysts, it looks like we might be trending that direction.

Any clue to when he plans on announcing a commitment? Cause Man if we land Justin Rodgers , it could really Keep up the momentum and be a game changer for this recruiting class. All of our recruits so far could potentially end up being 4 start recruits by years end . That being said I think it’d really show those other elite prospects that Kentucky is for real ready to take that next step. And I think we only have like 15 scholarships this year so we can really fill those spots up with some game changers .

And so far I’m pretty sure, the majority of recruits that we are targeting are high three star and four star recruits . With us taking a small class and still have a chance to land a top 25 class would speak volumes and only lead to more and more elite recruits buying into the program.

Time to get kids like this and maybe bring those decommits back on board..we’re rollin! Future is bright

Commitment vs signature. Vast difference and a long wait. But by gawd we’re swingin’ for the fences!! Go Cats!

    1. Luether

Agree about the fences. Can’t have too many SEC caliber linemen…

No commitment yet. I will say If he does commit this one is a bit different. He already has the big schools calling.

Have we ever gotten a 5 star

    1. gherald7

Micah Johnson was a five star I think

    2. imabucket

Not sure if Matt Elam was a consensus five star . But I do know he was on some sites . But we all know how that worked out 🙁 .

    3. imabucket

But yeah Micah Johnson was a five star. I’m thinking he’s still playing in the cfl and has actually had a HOF type career up there .

      Landon Young

Give me four and five star linemen and I’ll show you a team competing for a conference championship. They make the qb and running backs look good. Is it football season yet?

We have developed 2 and 3 star OLs into some legit players in recent years. Why wouldn’t you wanna come here? Talkin bout a YAHTZEE!

Barnhart needs to lock Mark Stoops in for a lifetime contract before Florida State comes calling with an open checkbook!

This coming early signing period could be the biggest day ever in the history of UK football. I can’t believe I am seeing this in my lifetime, everyone always said it would never happen. Stoops, staff and all the players continue to build this program. Thank you all very much. I remember when Stoops was hired Mitch said he came into the interview with a plan, guess he is executing that plan pretty well.

Mashburn this really makes me think about me and my father in laws convos in the stoops era . I’m 28 and he’s like maybe 55 . Anyways I’ve always been optimistic about UK football for the past five years or so and he can’t help but to be a pessimist about it and who can really blame him . But he’s coming along these past two years to where he actually believes we can do good . Lol he’s still hesitant to buy in like much of our fan base but he says the same about in his lifetime of seeing the successs of UK football this past year. I truly believe stoops is building something special here and pray that we can keep him for another few years .

How do you go from fightin off mid major schools for two star recruits to potentially landing a top 10 player? I can actually say I’ve believed in Stoops the whole time and I am happy to see his success. Mitch needs to keep Stoops around for as long as possible.
