Kentucky point guard target Devin Askew will be joined by Kentucky forward commit Lance Ware on his official visit this weekend.

According to Pat Lawless of Prep Circuit, the 2020 four-star prospect out of Camden, NJ will take his official visit to Lexington starting tomorrow.

Ware, a 6-foot-9, 215-pound power forward, chose the Wildcats back on September 12 over offers from Michigan, Ohio State, Miami, Providence, Georgetown, Louisville, and Oregon, among others.

“I want to thank my family, my friends, all the coaches that have helped me grow as a person and as a player,” he said during an announcement ceremony at his school. “This has been a tough decision, going to all these schools and meeting all of these coaches, building the relationships with all the coaches and assistant coaches. After spending time talking with my family and everybody that I trust and that is important to me, I’ve decided that I want to go to the University of Kentucky.”

Ranked as high as No. 31 (Rivals) and as low as No. 42 (ESPN) in his class, 247Sports gives him a Composite ranking of No. 32 overall.

As for Askew, a five-star point guard in the class of 2021, his father tells KSR that he will be taking his official visit to Kentucky starting tomorrow, as well.

In an interview with The Cats Pause, 247Sports recruiting insider Evan Daniels said he believes Kentucky has separated itself as the leader for the 6-foot-3 guard out of Santa Ana, CA.

“I think Kentucky is the leader,” he said. “Louisville has done a good job recruiting him, Arizona and Memphis will get him on campus and I think we’ll have a decision in the next six weeks or so, but I think Kentucky is in great position.”

Lance Ware could end up the surprise of the whole class. I don’t think he’s a superstar type player, but I do believe he can be a perfect team guy. What I mean is, he can do all the little things that don’t get Talked about but the team needs to be good. The extra rebound or block shot when we need it and he’s a very good athlete so he runs the floor extremely well and finish’s around the rim, he can catch lobs as finish also. Really excited and proud to have this kid. Hopefully he’s here for two years, but with Kentucky’s system it’s hard to say who will flourish and who will take more time. Anyway, happy to have this kid and he’s going to be a good one.

As for Devin, I believe he could be the missing piece to a championship team. We really need this kid next year if we can’t get another point guard, or if Quickly goes off and has a great season. No matter when he does hit a college campus, he’s going to be a great one and wherever he goes will have a chance to win it all. Things are how they should be again in Lexington Kentucky and the Universe is back in order!! Hehe. Go Cats!

I agree on both fronts. Ware doesn’t ha e that one nba skill right now that screams superstar, but he plays a complete game, and seems to nearly always be in great position. He’s got all the intangibles
