KSR’s 3rd Annual Restaurant/Fast Food Bracket

For the third year in a row, KSR is tackling the biggest debate of our generation: What is the best fast food/chain restaurant in America?

Two years ago, Qdoba beat out Subway for the title, and last year, Outback upset Cracker Barrel in a debate that went all the way to the Republican National Convention. This year, we’re doing it all again. Behold the bracket below in all its glory below (click to enlarge):

Let’s take a closer look at each region. On this morning’s show, the guys did round one in the East.

The East Region:

The West Region:

The South Region:

The Midwest Region:

Hear the East Region debate on today’s show, which included former UK football coach Rich Brooks breaking a tie between Cane’s and O’Charley’s.

I do respect that Matt personally loves Firehouse so much (even if they only have four restaurants in KY – 3 in Lex and one in Richmond and no other places lol. I had tried them more than a few times, however, their bread is always saggy and watery and not even close to my beloved Penn Station.

PS has over 310 restaurants throughout 14 states east coast and their hot & crispy bread/bun is the BEST plus there are more HOT sandwich options and they are way better than any other sandwich restaurants IMO.

Very Disappointed KSR & no longer Matt Jones fan 🙁

There are at least three firehouse subs locations in northern Kentucky alone, so I’m not sure where you’re getting those numbers.

FYI: There is a Firehouse Subs in Paducah. I’ve never eaten there, just know its there.

The mid-west is stacked unfairly. You have one of the best sub places in Jimmy Johns going against one of the best burger places in 5 Guys. That should be an elite 8 matchup. Sorry Ryan Lemond but Jimmy Johns is a 1000 times better then Subway any day. I put it above Firehouse also if for noo other reason then it is freaky fast as their motto states.

Also, as someone that haas moved out of the Ohio / KY region, how do you have two legendary places like Skyline and White Castles potentially facing off in the second round. Any time I travel back to the area, I have to get a 3 way and Coney at least once. I will plan my trip and what exits I stop it around wether a skyline is available (Gold Star also but only in a pinch). This feels like the usual UK, Louisville, UNC, and IU bracket.
