Good get on the kid from Dublin, GA! It’s not too far from where my parents and siblings still live in GA. Fun facts about Dublin:

The high school football team is called the Irish (big surprise!).

    From http://www.cityofdublin.org/history/index/index.php:
The City of Dublin was incorporated by the Georgia Assembly on December 9th, 1812, and made the county seat. It is said that a citizen, Jonathan Sawyer, named it Dublin after the capital of his Irish homeland.
In March, the entire community is a “wee bit Irish” for the Dublin-Laurens St. Patrick’s Festival which has been in existence for over 30 years! The month-long celebration offers fun for the whole family with a parade, a road race, an arts and craft fair, a leprechaun contest and much more.

    1. chris gettelfinger is not walking through that door

Athletic teams, not just football. lol

    2. Realme

      Leprechaun contest sounds fun.

    3. chris gettelfinger is not walking through that door

Yep! Also, the timing was interesting. He committed right after Robinson committed to Bama. I wonder if he was waiting to see if he would have to compete, or if the staff asked him to commit after losing out on Robinson.

    4. runningunnin.454

Can you get a “pint of Gat”?

    5. chris gettelfinger is not walking through that door

Since I’m a teetotaler I’m not sure what that is, but usage and context would tell me it is a nickname for ale. I’m sure there are more than a few pints available.

BTW RG, since you were a bit pugnacious in your younger days, are you somewhat fond of teams with nicknames that read “Fighting Irish” etc.? Haha.

These Dubliners apparently decided against that particular moniker unlike Notre Dame.

    6. runningunnin.454

Yep, that’s a pint of Guinness. I like the Fightin’ Camels.

    7. runningunnin.454

By the way, John and Paul had a friend that was heir to the Guinness fortune named Tara Browne. He died in a car wreck, and that was the inspiration for the song, “A Day in the Life”. No, it wasn’t a reference to Paul’s fatal car wreck. Iamhe, you out there Ha ha.

    8. 4everUKblue

Ian aware of the Tara Browne story, you’re second reference is correct according to Memoirs. BTW, Billy Shears was in an early band called Billy Pepper and the Pepperpots, which it seems is where the Sgt Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band came from.

    9. 4everUKblue

I read the news today, oh boy
About a lucky man who made the grade….Tara was born into it so he didn’t have to make the grade.

    10. 4everUKblue

Billy was an unknown session musician whose luck changed with the sad news.

    11. runningunnin.454

Yeah, I know about Billy Pepper and the Pepperpots, there’s a video/audio on line; there’s no video; but, you can listen to 25 minutes of their music. They play two Beatles songs, and there are several originals written by Bill Shepherd.
The guy is terrible; he drags on every song, and he can’t sing on key; he’s flat. He could study voice at the Marcus Institute for vocal arts at Juilliard for 10 years, and still couldn’t replace McCartney. Even Juilliard can’t fix flat and dragging.
We don’t have to agree on this; we can still chat and have fun with it, right?

    12. 4everUKblue

Yes we can still chat and have fun with it even if we don’t agree. I’m only telling you what is in Memoirs, his explanation of the lyrics makes perfect sense on all counts. The Pepperpots was early on around the Beatles’ days in the cavern and he WAS terrible. A lot of their sound from Sgt Peppers one is attributed to the genius of Sir George Martin but he also took voice lessons and yes one can overcome bad singing practices. As I said there have been voice analysis done and the voices do not match and cannot be faked. If I went only on my opinion I would be right there with you and I was until I did quite a bit of digging, reading and listening to people who have done extensive research. I would give anything if you could convince me all their research is wrong, but they have gone to great lengths to debunk the PID conspiracy and none has been able to, that is why I asked you to.

    13. 4everUKblue

Actually what I meant to say was when I was going on my opinion before I looked at all the evidence I could find I was right there with you and I didn’t change my thinking over night, it actually took a couple of years. There are mountains of evidence that cannot be explained away as hard as I tried, it was not easy for me and I fought it long and hard but there is too much to overcome.

    14. runningunnin.454

Okay, I’ll keeping trying, then. They also say Phill Ackrill of the Diplomats is the same guy. Ackrill gave up music, and became an accountant; in fact, he was an accountant for Bev Bevan and his group, The Move.
Bill Shepherd also gave up hopes of fame as an artist, and became the music arranger for the Bee Gees in the mid ’60’s, and continued in that role through the early ’70’s.
Now if you told me, Denny Laine (ha ha Penny Lane) of the Diplomats replaced McCartney, I might start to doubt…he actually was with the Moody Blues and sang “Go Now”. He also later joined the real Paul and Wings. Have to admit Billy Pepper (sgt Pepper) and Denny Laine (Penny Lane) is pretty good.

    15. runningunnin.454

Oh , crap…have to “Go Now” and mow. Later friend, and believe…Paul Lives.

    16. 4everUKblue

Ha ha, not sure where youre finding your info but there are very few pictures of William (Billy Shears) Shepherd but there is really no trace of him after 66′, now I’m sure there is some disinfo out there. Denny Laine was with Phil and the Diplomats and a long time friend of Billy and yes he did later joine Billy in Wings. These lyrics are about Phil Ackrill who gave up being Phil. Silly Willy is William and the Philly Band is the Diplomats.

What’s That Man Holding In His Hand?
He Looks A Lot Like A Guy I Knew Way Back When
Its Silly Willy With Philly Band
      Could Be . . . . . Oo-Ee

Some of your info is good but then you get sidetracked. Paul could be alive but he was replaced back in Sept. of 66′

    17. 4everUKblue

The real proof is in the faces, William’s earlobes are not attached but Paul’s were, Billy’s eyes are green and his face is longer and narrower. Billy’s hair parts on the right and Paul’s on the left.
‘Won’t Get Fooled Again ” is about the replacement….how they are grew beards seemingly over night. “Ruby Tuesday” is also about PID.

And a parting on the left
Is now a parting on the right
And the beards have all grown longer overnight

      https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n5WwaHyR-w8&frags=pl%2Cwn

    18. 4everUKblue

Still haven’t explained why Paul said he joined the Beatles, an already set up affair when he was a co-founder. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bh8Xo84sHxU&feature=youtu.be&t=2130

    19. 4everUKblue

https://youtu.be/bh8Xo84sHxU?t=4510 Surely you can see these are not the same person.

And the first one said to the second one there I hope you’re having fun…

The clues never stopped, in fact Paul/Faul still puts clues his songs to this day. Memoirs was never promoted, you find it or you don’t so it is not a money making venture. Lot of effort put into the two books without promoting it and it is printed by Peppers press. It was written with fact mixed with fiction because if he comes straight out he would void his contract and lose everything. Mixing in the fiction gives him plausible deniability.

    20. 4everUKblue

Interesting tidbit, Billy had a friend named Penny Nickels which was her stage name, she would never tell him her real name, he often joked about if Penny married Denny she would become Penny Laine. You really should read the book for entertainment if nothing else. $20 is a small price to pay for all the info in the book/s.

    21. 4everUKblue

And why is George and George Martin calling him William and Billy and Beatle Bill? Why so John and George joke about the fab three? There are hundreds of clues I was unaware of.

    22. runningunnin.454

If you can find a pic of young Paul, he had serious issues with his ears. When he became successful, he had corrective surgery on them; it’s called otoplasty; it’s more common than you think.
Eyes are brown due to a pigment, melanin. Many factors cause the melanin to be depleted or redistributed in the iris; age, drugs, stress and anxiety, even moods. When this happens, brown eyes may have flecks of green, or even change color to hazel or green.
Paul was not a founding member of the Beatles; he joined the already existing Quarrymen. He played Eddie Cochran’s 20 Flight Rock to “audition” for John.
Paul had a motorbike wreck and had corrective surgery; he also had more surgery after a car wreck, but it was not fatal.

    23. 4everUKblue

You don’t have surgery to have your lobes attached, also Paul’s ears stick out more that Bill’s, Bill’s face is longer and narrower and his eyes are closer together, I’ve seen the pictures of Paul at a young aged. Bill is noticeably taller that Paul. You didn’t watch any of the videos did you? The Beatles were not an already set up affair when Paul joined, it was John and Paul. As I said Paul may be alive but he was replaced, look at the pictures over the years of Paul. Keep trying but you really need to do some more research. Again…Why is George Martin and Harrison calling him William, Billy and Bill? Bill had many surgeries and fillers to look more like Paul. Go compare interviews with Paul before Sept 66′ and after, personality is not the same. If you watch Paul on stage before sept 66′ he plays the bass different than Billy does, Paul, George and John never shared a mic again, couldn’t because of the height difference.

    24. 4everUKblue

Wings was named for Paul’s broken wings. Blackbird is Paul singing to Billy….all your life, you were only waiting for this moment to arise. Then there is this ..
That the singer’s going to sing a song
And he wants you all to sing along
So let me introduce to you
The one and only Billy Shears
And Sergeant Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band, yeah

      and

With A Little Help From My Friends”
“With A Little Help From My Friends” begins with…..

      Billy Shears

What would you think if I sang out of tune
Would you stand up and walk out on me?

    25. 4everUKblue

Paul forgets he’s left handed in the Penny Lane video around the 2:35 mark https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S-rB0pHI9fU&frags=pl%2Cwn

    26. 4everUKblue

You’re right Paul joined The Quarrymen who became the Beatles so he did not join the Beatles. Also Billy is Scottish and that is why he wrote Mull of Kintyre, that was his home and the reason he owned the farm in Scotland and the why he wrote “Mother Natures Son”. Paul was from Liverpool and knew nothing of the country. Billy is direct descendant of William Wallace of (Braveheart)

    27. 4everUKblue

I am aware of the wrecks you speak of but there is no evidence he had any surgeries, he chipped a tooth or had it knocked out when he had the moped wreck.

    28. runningunnin.454

Ain’t this fun. Who was Billy Shears on Sgt Pepper…wasn’t it Ringo?
By the way, Bill Shepherd didn’t disappear after ’66; he worked with the B G’s. I got that from his son; he also admitted his dad was Billy Pepper of the Pepperpots, and admitted that they were terrible.
He also said his dad never subbed for Paul McCartney, ever. His dad died in the ’80’s.
So Billy is dead, not Paul.

    29. 4everUKblue

Yes it’s fun and Of course they can’t let anyone know Billy is not Paul, Billy would lose everything and so would his family, his children. Yes the Pepperpots were terrible and no Ringo was not Sgt Pepper, Billy was. Why would they sing “That the singer’s going to sing a song
And he wants you all to sing along
So let me introduce to you
The one and only Billy Shears
And Sergeant Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band”? Billy did work other jobs after 66′ and even did a lot of anonymous work. Again, Paul could be alive but he was not a Beatle after Sept 66′. If you compare the two in interviews and stage performances, it’s glaringly obvious they are not the same.

    30. 4everUKblue

It would be even more fun to go back and forth after you’ve read Memoirs and after you’ve listened to all these vids….www.jamespaulmccartney.com Mike Williams has been at it for several years.

    31. 4everUKblue

And you still haven’t explained the sudden growth spurt over a few months. Billy is bigger than Paul and 5 yrs older.

    32. 4everUKblue

“Hello Goodbye” is about the new Paul’s arrival and biological Paul’s departure. Billy/Paul still puts clues in his songs even to this day.

    33. runningunnin.454

      Pre LSD, and Post LSD.
So the one and only Billy Shears…and Ringo starts to sing, right?
So who wrote the Sgt Pepper songs? “When I’m Sixty Four” was nice little tune, and was a dramatic departure from the early Beatles, and it fit in nicely with the other songs on the album, especially with the two B flat clarinets and the bass clarinet…I thought that was Paul’s contribution to the album.

    34. 4everUKblue

William goes by Billy Shears as in Shepherd shears sheep, it’s a Masonic thing. Why do you think they would call Ringo Billy Shears? Paul couldn’t play all the instruments Billy can and Paul couldn’t read and write music, but Billy can. Paul started that song way before it was released but never finished it so Billy did. Yes Paul was pre LSD and Billy was Post LSD, he helped promote LSD usage, something Paul would never do. BTW, I will be out tomorrow but I will check back when I get home.

    35. 4everUKblue

You and I are the only two who can do this, the others are too young to remember, although I don’t remember most of what I have learned the last 2 yrs. There are far more clues than I was aware of, they’re in every song.

    36. runningunnin.454

Did you mean to say, “Of course they can’t let anyone know Billy is NOT Paul”. What would Freud say?
Actually the real Paul wrote “When I’m 64” on the family piano when he was 16; I think John added a couple of lines; but, I doubt a fake Paul would even know about that song.
      Hey, been fun…see ya later.

    37. 4everUKblue

No I meant to say Billy/Faul and his family can’t say Paul is really Billy because Billy and all his family would lose everything. Yes the real Paul did write “When I’m 64” just as you said but it was never recorded so Billy added some a new arrangement with the other instruments and recorded it, something Paul never did and yes Faul knows all about the song, in fact they spent months with Faul training him to be Paul and know all that Paul knows. How else would he be able to pull it off?

    38. 4everUKblue

If you read the book you will see that only someone who was there could provide that much detail, just wouldn’t be possible. “She Came In Through The Bathroom Window” is all about Jane Asher. “Carry That Weight” is the other Beatles telling Faul he’s going to carry the weight of his deception a long time. Once there was a way to get back homeward, but not anymore because he’s Paul now.

Stuck inside these four walls, sent inside forever (Bill can never go back to his old life) Ever see an no one ( Bill) rise again. If I ever get out of here, thought of giving it all away, to a registered charity, all I need is a pint today, if I ever get out of here. Billy endured serious loneliness as a result of his choices. Faul broke up the band not Yoko, who by the way was sent to be John’s handler. Faul and John couldn’t get along. Does that sound like childhood best friends/mates?

    39. 4everUKblue

Forgot to tell you “With A Little Help From My Friends” was written as Paul/Faul being interviewed. A question is asked and Ringo answers as if he were Paul, it’s the same as “Baby You’re A Rich Man.” Someone, I can’t remember who told Billy when he agreed to play Paul asked him “how does it feel to be one of the beautiful people?” That is where he got the idea for the song, and it continues as an interview.

    40. 4everUKblue

Here is Billy in a cameo appearance in “Magical Mystery Tour”. In the movie they very briefly zoom in on him, there is one more appearance in the movie where all the bus riders are standing waving at the camera but it’s very brief as well.

      http://60if.proboards.com/thread/909

Oh, and I forgot that the Ryan-ism is “Bam bam far pow’r!”, not “Bang bang!” like I keep typing here. Haha.

    1. Realme

C&M feel free to change yours to your favorite cryptid.

    2. Realme

      Ugh, wrong reply spot, obviously.

  3. chris gettelfinger is not walking through that door

Don’t kill a snake if it’s non-venomous! They keep down venomous snakes and rodents.

    1. Realme

      That poor snake.

    2. Realme

I guess I can’t judge. I would go to those lengths to kill a spider.

    3. runningunnin.454

Our vet was down between the Lakes and saw a huge rattlesnake; he thought it would look good in his clinic, so he knocked it in the head and threw it in the trunk.
When he got home, he opened the trunk and the snake was coiled up and doing the rattle thing…oops.

    4. chris gettelfinger is not walking through that door

      Wow!

    5. ClutchCargo

rg, after I changed my underwear, I would calmly close the trunk, shove that car into a lake and never speak of it again. 🙂

    6. CATandMONKEY

Our property includes 1/2 woods and snakes enjoy the late afternoon sun in the ravine behind the house.
The over- representative cat population tends to deter most creatures from the inner home perimeter.

Real, The new Avatar is beyond Epic!

    7. chris gettelfinger is not walking through that door

C&M, did you ever order those Wickles Pickles?

I forgot to tell you, if you ever do, once you’re out of pickles, reuse the brine (one time only so it doesn’t go bad) and just cut up and shove in your favorite raw veggies. I like to cut up a red bell pepper and some onion, and the sweet hot taste they absorb is great!

  4. RealCatsFan

Ryan doesn’t realize that the snake he killed was harmless and probably eating things like bugs, spiders, rats and mice, that he DOESN’T want in his garage.

The ignorance about snakes amazes me. 99% of the time they are harmless and will leave you alone. no need to kill them if non venomous.

And the “zombie snake” everyone is talking about is an Eastern Hognose snake. Friend of mine had one, and they are kind of interesting. Yes, if cornered they will puff themselves up and hiss loudly, and if this doesn’t scare off the threat, they will flip over with their tongue hanging out and ay dead. If you flip them over, they will flip back over on their back.

Snakes get an undeserved bad rap, IMO.

    1. chris gettelfinger is not walking through that door

I’ll admint I don’t know one snake from another much myself, but a while back me and some friends were in a local park with walking trails through a wooded area, and we saw a black racer. Beautiful! I took some video and he just crawled away from us.

    2. Realme

I’ve never understood how people expect me to look close enough to check if a snake is venomous. If a snake larger than a garter snake wants to move into my garage, I’m not going to get close enough to check it’s eyes or head shape or whatever.

My MIL saw a snake in her basement and just stopped going down there. Abandoned all property and had a washer and dryer installed upstairs.

    3. runningunnin.454

Ha ha, Realme, if the snake has a triangular head, it’s poisonous. If it has a rattle on the tail…run.

    4. RealCatsFan

I was a nerd as a kid (still am) and actually used to catch snakes and keep them as pets. I learned how to recognize the common species in our area, so I knew the ones that are harmless. Had a 6 foot long black rat snake and a number of garter snakes. My parents were very understanding. 😉

    5. RealCatsFan

True story – found a small rat snake on my work bench ten years ago (a sure sign that it’s time to clean the garage. Showed it to my younger daughter, and she thought it was cute – wanted to hold it.

    6. ClutchCargo

If you bite a snake and you die, it is poisonous. If a snake bites you and you die, it is venomous.

    7. runningunnin.454

If a snake chases you…run faster.

There it is. “I was just a widdahl smaw fwyyyyyy!!!”

Is it just me or does it feel like this whole guest list has been turned on it’s head compared to the list Matt hinted at earlier? No Laura Rutledge, slice (which is 100% understandable btw), John/Ellen show, and I think I’m forgetting some
