    GO CATS

    1. Realme

      I concur.

    2. J-Dub421

      C-A-T-S! CATS! CATS! CATS!

  2. chris gettelfinger is not walking through that door

So Tennessee has Colgate. That’ll be the closest Tennessee has ever gotten to Colgate in their life.

    1. RealCatsFan

cg, as a University-6 player once famously stated, Colgate is one of those “academic schools”. πŸ˜€

    2. J-Dub421

According to the academic bracket, Kentucky is one of those academic schools. πŸ˜‰

    3. RealCatsFan

UNCheat is one of those fake academic schools.

    4. runningunnin.454

I thought you were talking about oral hygiene, Hah. More coffee, please.

    5. J-Dub421

UNC should be, since they just had out A’s like candy.

    6. chris gettelfinger is not walking through that door

And of course I saw where a UT fan tweeted:

“We get Colgate because we care about dental hygiene. That being said, too bad they’re not a school called Polident, would be a perfect opponent for Kentucky.”

      Touche, my friend, touche.

BTW, will a UT player say “This ain’t no spelling bee!” I know that was Cornell for us, but still.

    7. chris gettelfinger is not walking through that door

If Auburn plays UNCheat, I will be the biggest Auburn fan who isn’t really a fan in Montgomery!!!

    8. spincr4hire

      CG. Same

    9. TroyMcKinleysJumpShot

I know that facts are optional, but….. Actually Morristown, Tennessee is home to the plant where Colgate toothpaste is made. LOL

    10. RealCatsFan

Tennessee fans making fun of oral hygiene in Kentucky. Now that’s rich!

    11. chris gettelfinger is not walking through that door

spincr, you’re in Montgomery? I remember a commenter once saying he lived here too.

  3. J-Dub421

PJ in a boot gives me some concern.

    1. RealCatsFan

And the guys talking about MRI’s and such doesn’t give me a warm fuzzy feeling. πŸ™

    2. Realme

I’ll worry if they say he’s missing practice.

    3. runningunnin.454

Pat Riley had a toe infection during the 1966 championship game.

    4. J-Dub421

We can beat Abilene Christian without him.

    5. ClutchCargo

And look how that one turned out, rg!!! Dammit!!!

    6. J-Dub421

So RG is saying we get to the title game…..

    7. ClutchCargo

I think we’re fine tomorrow with or without PJ. I’d be ok if he sat out just for even more precautionary reasons if it helps us Saturday and beyond.

    8. chris gettelfinger is not walking through that door

Pat should have gone to the Toe Bro!!!

    9. runningunnin.454

Sorry, J-D; we’re not going anywhere without PJ.

    10. chris gettelfinger is not walking through that door

When I read the headline about PJ last night I did the Darth Vader “nnnnnnnnNNNNNNNNNNNNNNOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!” that he did when Palpatine falsely told him he had killed Padme.

  4. ClutchCargo

It’s understandable. We have been conditioned to worry a little when there is possible injury around tournament time.

  5. RealCatsFan

For all the people who want to say the Cats will have no chance if PJ is out, remember 2014, when we got to the finals with out Willie out. Maybe this year Tyler Herro will be our Aaron Harrison. Never count the Cats out – EVERYONE should remember that! (Hey, Cal has even mentioned making a tweak, so there’s that!)

    1. thomaswaynem

Which could be because PJ is hurt….thus the need for a tweak of those two being on the floor at the same time.

    2. runningunnin.454

He said he was going to play EJ and Nick together. We’ve already done that many times?

    3. chris gettelfinger is not walking through that door

And we lost a close game to UCONN that we probably would have won with Willie. We’ll never know of course. *sigh*

    4. RealCatsFan

I really think the issue against UConn was that Randle was hurt. He was limping noticeably during warmups, and was not himself during the game. Having Willie would have been nice for rim protection against their guards.

And of course Rex hexed us…

AAAAAAAUUUGGGHHH!! You had to bring that loss up!

    5. Iamheasyouarehe

As Matt ALWAYS says “It is what it is”.

  6. secrick

    GO GOPHERS

  7. Iamheasyouarehe

We’ve been pretty lucky with injuries? What about WCS and Poythress?

    1. runningunnin.454

I’m convinced those injuries cost us two titles.

    2. Iamheasyouarehe

No doubt in my mind about that!

    3. chris gettelfinger is not walking through that door

DA in 97 also. Mike Casey in like 1970 or so.

    4. Iamheasyouarehe

Matt was talking about during the Cal years, there have been others not during Cal’s time here.

    5. J-Dub421

Losing Poythress cost us the title in 2015, no doubt in my mind about that.

    6. RealCatsFan

Kentucky has had some crappy luck with injuries through the years. Bowie, Anderson, Patterson, Bogans, Dent, Noel, Willie, Poythress – I know I am leaving a few out. Yeah, I know, everybody has injuries, but we have had some devastating ones.

    7. Iamheasyouarehe

      Don’t forget Dale Brown.

    8. chris gettelfinger is not walking through that door

Yeah, I always seem to forget one. We could so easily be trying to tie or pass UCLA right now, or even extend a lead, but oh well.

    9. Iamheasyouarehe

At what point does karma finally catch up with K and duke? I sure hope I’m alive to see it.

    10. RealCatsFan

Iam, I am absolutely going to dance a jig when the Vampire retires.

    11. RealCatsFan

Somehow we need to find a way to hasten that. Hit him with some holy water, expose him to daylight, or the trusty wooden stake. Heck, if we could just cut off his supply of fresh blood, that would help.

Wonder what would happen if the entire opposing student section showed up at a dook game with silver crosses?

    12. Iamheasyouarehe

Me too RealCats, I’m even willing to wear a necklace of garlic 365 days a year to get rid of him.

  8. chris gettelfinger is not walking through that door

Keith Bogans when we lost to the Marquette Wades.

    1. chris gettelfinger is not walking through that door

Reply fail. Was meant for the injury thread.

  9. runningunnin.454

Congrats to the Belmont coach, After 43 years and over 800 wins, he gets his first NCAA tournament win. Good game, too.

    1. secrick

Yep that’s right and congrats to Temples coach , calling it quits .

    2. RealCatsFan

      John Chaney is retiring? πŸ˜€

    3. ClutchCargo

Killing Cal is on his bucket list, and he doesn’t have time to do that while coaching.

  10. ClutchCargo

Ugh… That Adam Edelen for Gov jingle is the worst thing I have heard in a very long time.

    1. Realme

I would absolutely vote against him because of that cheesiness. I think all politicians are bs anyways, so am happy to vote for dumb or petty reasons. πŸ™‚

    2. J-Dub421

It will be stuck in your head all day.

    3. chris gettelfinger is not walking through that door

I’m waiting for the Magic Vapor Shop guy to run and do the same style commercial as his shop. lol

    4. Iamheasyouarehe

It’s always the songs I hate the most that get stuck in my head, funny how that works.

    5. ClutchCargo

My ears kind of slammed shut after a few seconds, so maybe I’ll get through the day okay. But that was a stern test of my selective hearing.

  11. J-Dub421

Going from UK to juco is quite the fall from grace for BCG.

    1. ClutchCargo

It would seem that way. But he is a really strange dude (shocker) and is probably much better suited to flying under the radar like he is now. UK was probably the worst thing that ever happened to him.

    2. Realme

I feel sorry for him. It’s like coaching at UK broke him.

    3. ClutchCargo

Same. I can’t even be mad at him for running UK basketball into a ditch, because it took that to get Cal. We’re even.

    4. runningunnin.454

UK was too much for BCG and Sutton; and, I think alcohol was part of it.

    5. Iamheasyouarehe

From what I understand it was not just alcohol with Sutton.

  12. runningunnin.454

Rooferee sucks; never want to see him again, unless he’s calling a Div II game.

    1. Realme

So glad KSR fought it out in court instead of settling with that jackass for any amount.

    2. runningunnin.454

And, he can take the UT refs with him. Bums.

    3. RealCatsFan

When Matt said he had an announcement to make, I sucked in my breath, worrying that he was going to say that PJ is out for the tourney.

    4. Realme

      Same, rcf.

    5. ClutchCargo

      You weren’t alone, RCF.

  13. RealCatsFan

HA! The rooferee LOSES! No lawsuit FOR YOU!

    1. Iamheasyouarehe

      Kentucky against the world.

  14. J-Dub421

Ha! Suck it Rooferee! Case dismissed!

  15. spincr4hire

    F Higgins !

    1. runningunnin.454

And, the UT refs. Bums all.

  16. ClutchCargo

Let’s just hope we don’t see the Rooferee down the road in the tournament. You know he is out to get us now. But maybe that will be enough that he won’t be assigned to our games.

    1. Realme

Yeah if he ends up being assigned to one of our games, might as well not even watch.

    2. J-Dub421

I would think/hope he can’t ever ref a UK game again since he sued KSR which is a UK affiliated site. Clearly he has bias against us now and it would be a conflict of interest.

    3. ClutchCargo

But we’re talking about the NCAA here, so logic has no place in this discussion. πŸ˜‰

  17. runningunnin.454

Well, I’m not expecting good news re PJ. Cal with that EJ/Nick tweak thing was a smoke screen.
Sorry about the half empty glass.

    1. RealCatsFan

Hope you’re wrong. But I can see the logic.

  18. RealCatsFan

If Indiana wins the NIT, the stock of the popcorn box manufacturer will skyrocket.

    1. Iamheasyouarehe

      Lol!

  19. weneedpitino

I’m sure that most of you have wondered where I was this morning. I have been busy and did not have time to share my knowledge and my 2 cents with you all today. It looks like you all had fun, have a great day. Go cats, and go more needed free time in life!!
