Does anybody really believe they will let us play in Louisville? Nope.

    1. Realme

Only if they’re pairing us with a Duke team that has Zion back.

    2. Iamheasyouarehe

And if Zion is 100% healthy, they’d never give us a chance to beat duke with a less than fully recovered Zion. Would they?

    3. ClutchCargo

Call me crazy, but I’m not scared of playing Duke again. Especially when it involves a chance to send them packing and break ESPN’s hearts.

    4. chris gettelfinger is not walking through that door

    5. Realme

I’ve decided I’m not worried about it either, because with one terrible exception, the team I worry about doesn’t even end up being who we play anyways.

    6. Iamheasyouarehe

Speaking of Zion and ESPN’s love affair with him….Have you seen the ESPN NCAAM front page?

    7. runningunnin.454

Yup, can we get the FBI to investigate the Dook Brotherhood-NCAA-ESPN money trail?

    8. RealCatsFan

I just wish there was someone with the dirt on dook who would be willing to risk life, family, and liberty to spill the beans. BBN would anoint them with sainthood.

    9. ClutchCargo

Maybe, cg. 🙂 But that first game beatdown wasn’t the end of the season. Did we give up when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor?

    10. J-Dub421

Actually, I can see them putting us in Louisville. The NCAA loves money more than anything, and if they put UK in Louisville, that’s a guaranteed sell-out of the arena. $$$$$

    11. J-Dub421

Corey Maguette admitted in Court that he took money in AAU and the NCAA didn’t vacate Duke’s wins from that season. Even if Dukeies did come clean, it wouldn’t matter.

    12. runningunnin.454

Maybe, but I’m betting on Des Moines.

    13. chris gettelfinger is not walking through that door

I just had to Clutch, and nice Animal House reference!

BTW, the one time I got through to KSR, a pregame show in the 14-15 bball season: I was responding to the folks who thought we should lost 1 game to take the pressure off, and I used that line and Matt hung up on me and said “That’s not funny”. Heh.

    14. chris gettelfinger is not walking through that door

      lose not lost…

  2. RealCatsFan

Can someone refresh my memory on why Shannon the Dude is a Vandy fan again? What rational person would put themselves through something like that?

    1. Realme

I don’t think he even had a reason. I could be remembering wrong, but I think he just picked them as his team a long time ago.

    2. Iamheasyouarehe

I didn’t realize Vandy has lost the last 20 games straight. That’s sad, I never disliked Vandy….except when Stallings and Fogler were coach and even then I only disliked the coach.

    3. runningunnin.454

I have a brother-in-law that graduated from Vandy Law School; but, he’s a nerd. You can’t discuss basketball or football with him.

    4. RealCatsFan

Matt’s doppelganger coaches Vandy, but probably not for much longer. 🙂

    5. J-Dub421

One of my attorneys graduated from Vandy’s law school. It’s a really good school. They’re just bad at most sports.

    6. RealCatsFan

My older daughter toured Vandy on a high school college blitz last spring. Her impression was that the students were snooty and stuck up. She said she would not want to go there.

The downer is that she also toured UT and really liked it. (Doh!) But she is probably going to end up at UK because Governor’s Scholar money has to be used in state. She is going on official visits to all the big in-state schools over spring break – UK, WKU, NKU, and yes, even University-6.

    7. chris gettelfinger is not walking through that door
    8. Realme

RCF, can’t you keep her away from U6 for her health or something?

    9. StillBP

RCF you can always just bribe a school to get her in…that works out.

    10. RealCatsFan

Ha! She looks a whole lot like one of the players on my younger daughter’s volleyball team. 🙂

    11. ClutchCargo

I am a hater of Vandy basketball and football. The school and hospital are awesome.

    12. Iamheasyouarehe

Matt wishes he looked like Vandy’s coach, so does his girlfriend.

    13. RealCatsFan

BP, unfortunately my bribe would amount to keg money for the next frat blast.

  3. RealCatsFan

Part of Nashville will be blue this week, and the other part of it will look like a bunch of highway median cleanup prison refugees.

    1. chris gettelfinger is not walking through that door

      Garbage truck convention.

    2. runningunnin.454

Orange you glad we don’t wear orange? Works for Auburn; not for UT.

  4. RealCatsFan

After Joakim Noah, and the countless beatdowns for the football team, I could never, EVER root for Florida. No way. Nada! Nope!

  5. runningunnin.454

I hate to break up their theory; but, I cheer for the SEC teams in the tournament…if they’re not playing UK.

    1. chris gettelfinger is not walking through that door

I always cheer for the SEC in the SEC tourney.

Okay, that was less funny than what Matt hung up on me for. 😛

    2. RealCatsFan

I generally do as well, because it makes our conference look better. Especially if it is against one of the media darlings like dook, UNCheat, or Bill Self’s Fighting Hairpieces.

    3. ClutchCargo

I cheer only for what benefits me as a UK fan. Say, if UT beating another team makes our path easier, I’m for it. If the conference ends up doing well compared to other conferences, that’s ok too.

    4. runningunnin.454

I was so happy when S Car beat Dook in the tournament a couple of years ago, I could have kissed Frank Martin.
Well, maybe not…but I was happy.

    5. ClutchCargo

Ok, dook losing is #2 on the list of what I cheer for in the tournament.

  6. chris gettelfinger is not walking through that door

Guys, I saw you all discussed the college cheating scandal yesterday. I was scratching my head about why would anyone pay half a mil to bribe their kids into USC (or any college) when they could use that same money and send them elsewhere, even if it’s not an elite school like USC.

Then I read this (you may not like Ben Shapiro’s politics, but this is very enlightening):

    1. RealCatsFan

Why does EVERY SINGLE NEWS SITE use autoplay?

    2. chris gettelfinger is not walking through that door

      Yeah, that’s a pain.

    3. RealCatsFan

Interesting read, cg. I remember my first day at Speed School at UL. The dean was lecturing us, and he said to look at the people sitting next to us – chances were good that by this time next year they would not be there any more. He was right.

    4. ClutchCargo

News sites have become the internet equivalent of a carnival barker. They know they have to grab your attention in a short amount of time, so they shove it right in your face while they can.

    5. Realme

If your kid isn’t smart enough, so you pay their way into college, how are they supposed to actually succeed at the school? Do you keep paying for passing grades too? Then how do they perform at a job? I’m too lazy to read the article, this is just something I’ve been thinking about.

    6. RealCatsFan

I sincerely hope that there is a bit of sensationalism about this article, or our nation is in deep trouble. My kids are both going to be starting college within the next few years, and I hope they will get a good education. My perception on college degrees is that once you have landed that first job it doesn’t matter nearly as much WHICH college you got your degree from. From that point on, it is all about your job experience and references. I think if you can get into a college and a field that offers internships, then you are ahead of the game. My older kid got a very high score on her ACT and has been an A+ student her whole life, so she will probably be on an academic scholly somewhere. (Good thing she is smarter than her dad.)

    7. runningunnin.454

I saw one of the kids said she was only interested in the social opportunities, and the prestige of the Ivy League school. Well, that will get you one semester.

    8. RealCatsFan

Realme, a lot of kids who have ultra wealthy parents just don’t have to worry about working at anything. Mom and Dad will make sure their path is paved in gold, and these people usually have enough connections to make sure they get a plum job somewhere no matter how incompetent they are. There are still some wealthy folks who have enough pride that they want their kids to be smart and hard workers, but this kind of thing has been going on for decades.

    9. ClutchCargo

There are bad parents in every tax bracket. They all teach their kids the wrong lessons.

  7. RealCatsFan

Wasn’t Will Wade one of the coaches that BoB (or was it MashburnFan?) wanted to replace Cal?

    1. chris gettelfinger is not walking through that door

I did too until this happened (when Cal moves on…not that I wanted him fired like BoB). Now I’m thinking maybe the Florida guy, but I guess the jury is still out on him a bit. I still say we probably don’t even know our next HC’s name yet.

    2. StillBP

yeah BoB definitely, not sure about mashtipton

    3. StillBP

      or is it tipburn? lol

    4. J-Dub421

Cal will be here for years, so I don’t worry too much about finding our next coach. We’ll cross that bridge when we come to it.

    5. ClutchCargo

Agree, J-Dub. Except I usually say “jump off that bridge when we come to it.”

    6. Realme

I’m definitely going to want to jump when Cal leaves.

    7. J-Dub421

Right now, I just don’t think about Cal leaving. I do the mental equivalent of putting your fingers in your ears while going, “Lalalalalalala! I can’t hear you!!!”

    8. ClutchCargo

I guess my approach is I have lived life enough at this point that I just try to live in the present and appreciate what I have. Having said that, “Lalalalala.”

    9. RealCatsFan

I saw an article a while back that was saying that Count K said he was feeling better than he has in years and had no intention for retiring any time soon. Uugh. I guess that influx of fresh blood from his recent crop of top recruits has invigorated him.

    10. ClutchCargo

You know, RCF, it occurs to me that there is ALWAYS at least one really pale, sickly looking guy on Count K’s teams. I think you may be on to something.

  8. weneedpitino

Hi there all my true blue Nashville, and ksr commenter friends. I hope everyone’s stay here in nashville has been better than mine. I woke up all itchy and rashy and as most people are going to assume you’re probably thinking “well what kind of cheap hotel are you staying at weneedpitino.” I won’t go into specifics other than that I should have listened to my mother, she warned me about this place. She said it only had a one star review per the internet. Oh well, I hope that the rest of my day is better. Go cats!!

    1. ClutchCargo

Next time, try bringing a sleeping bag from home to lay on the bed. Or a Tyvek suit.

    2. ClutchCargo

And how exactly did your mother know about this place…

    3. StillBP

I assumed you were at a 5 star since you had a continental breakfast. No???

    4. RealCatsFan

Those cheep skanky ho’s you invited over probably gave you the crabs.

    5. runningunnin.454

      Rents rooms by the hour?

    6. weneedpitino

Well she googled it when I told her where I was staying, she also said it did not appear to be the best part of town either. Well it’s a one star but they had a continental breakfast, the waffles were great. Someone also marked out make bbn great again on my custom license plate and decided to write their team of choice. Does anyone think I should ditch my custom hat before someone yanks it off of my head? You know with the political climate the way it is they might assume I support a particular president. Go cats!!

    7. KYjellyRoll

What’d they write? Team of choice? What team?

    8. RealCatsFan

Wenee, did they have crabs on the continental breakfast menu? 😀

    9. StillBP

Waffles are above continental status. How did you get waffles at a continental? Continental is like bananas and apples. Waffles are buffet breakfast. Something sounds fishy here.

    10. weneedpitino

Well they wrote atm. At first I thought it was strange because i was thinking why would someone write the initials for automated teller machine. Then someone in the parking lot said it probably meant Texas a&m. Stillbp that’s what I thought but the lady working said she brought it from home, something about she got 3 as wedding presents. Go cats!!

    11. StillBP

well that’s probably bc BBN is already great, it doesn’t need to be made great again. Perhaps some A&M fan is longing for the Billy Clyde days again.

    12. StillBP

also, clearly I’m super bored this morning to be conversing with wnp, I’m finally slightly amused by their posts. I guess the continental breakfast got me.

    13. Realme

I thought “well what kind of cheap hotel are you staying at weneedpitino” was funny, as if his mom refers to him by his screen name.

    14. weneedpitino

Well I love my cats but I would have to disagree. We cannot be great again in until we get someone like Sean Miller, or Andy Kennedy. I’m itching something awful guys and gals I gotta go and try and Google how to treat these rashes. Go cats!!

    15. StillBP

Real that was pretty funny. They made a similar post in another thread but talked about the continental breakfast, so they reeled me in earlier today lol

    16. weneedpitino

Realme, you know it’s funny that you said that because she is actually calling me that now. Just last night she pinched my cheek and said “weneedpitino” I’m so proud of you and the man you’ve become. She reads my comments every day and she has noticed my popularity soaring on ksr because of my insightful insight. She thinks that I might start getting job offers and stuff from some sports outlet because of my knowledge of sports and the cats. Idk, but i do know GO CATS!!

    17. Iamheasyouarehe

I want some of whatever weneedp is on, reminds me of the John Prine song “Illegal Smile”.

    18. RealCatsFan

Wenee, I am a little concerned about your “relationship” with your mom. Dr. Freud is on line two – he says he needs to talk to you.

    19. weneedpitino

Haha realme it’s nothing funny like that lol. I’m married with 2 little weneedpitinos running around lol. I talked to the pharmacist about my rashes and he recommended an ointment. Let’s hope it helps before tomorrow. Go cats!!

  9. KYjellyRoll

I watched the 98’ game against duke and loved it. I was only 10 when it originally happened so I needed a refreshing.

    1. runningunnin.454

Ha ha, whippersnapper. Johnny Cox is UK’s rep at the SEC tournament; guess you don’t remember the ’58 championship team.
But, “Good Golly Miss Molly”, I listened on a little Philco radio.
That song was hot at the time,
Good Golly Miss Molly, sure like to ball, I thought it was about bball.

    2. RealCatsFan

rg is our ambassador to the greatness of the Rupp glory days. 🙂

    3. RealCatsFan

And that song was considered to be fairly controversial in its day, wasn’t it? 😉

    4. RealCatsFan

I need to watch that game again. I don’t think my kids have ever seen it. Project for the weekend!

I also need to break out my DVD for the 2012 season. Good times!

    5. runningunnin.454

Yep, all cutting edge black rock n roll was controversial. I could only get it late at night on Chicago and Detroit stations.

    6. RealCatsFan

I was born in 65, so that was before my time. I have often said it would be cool to be able to go back in time to different eras in Americana and experience it – kind of like Mary McFly, but with a way back. I used to love the show “Quantum Leap” because it did different eras like that.

    7. Iamheasyouarehe

Did you listen to WLS in Chicago runnin’?

    8. runningunnin.454

      Absolutely, my go to station.

    9. Iamheasyouarehe

Hard to believe that was the only station I could get in the middle of nowhere on a farm in south central KY.

  10. ClutchCargo

This is one of those increasingly rare IU fans you can actually have a good natured back and forth with.

    1. ClutchCargo

I know a handful of this type, but they are all getting up there in age.

    2. J-Dub421

Those exist? I thought they were like unicorns.

    3. RealCatsFan

I know a few – I have a lot of family who live in southern Indiana. Living in Louisville I also know UL fans like that. I know that is hard to believe. 🙂

    4. runningunnin.454

I can’t see IU’s record being worthy of an at-large bid. 17-14 and 8-12 conference. Seriously?

    5. ClutchCargo

J-Dub, you are more likely to be trampled to death by a herd of unicorns than to see one, but there are a few around.

    6. StillBP

IU would not be in the tourney convo if they hadn’t beaten MI St twice. Still not enough to overlook their bad losses, imo

    7. J-Dub421

If IU gets in I will be pissed. In 2013 our record was 21-11 and we got sent to the NIT. I know Nrelens was out, but still. IU’s few good wins shouldn’t outweigh their horrible record.

  11. RealCatsFan

So Louisville plays UNCheat tonight. Is it time for another sinkhole?

    1. StillBP

I’d rather the cheaters from UNC win bc we already know Duke would roll over Louisville. Won’t take a 20 point comeback in less than 10 minutes this time. Assuming Duke gets past Syracuse, which they likely will.

    2. runningunnin.454

I’ll take UL, busts up ESPN’s “greatest rivalry in the history of sports since the original Greek olympics”.

  12. ClutchCargo

What will happen if both TN teams lose? Even more blue will get in. Duh!

    1. J-Dub421

Exactly. UK fans snap up tickets of teams that lost. I’ve seen UK fans waiting outside arenas just waiting to buy tickets from losing teams fans as they leave. Others may not like us, but they’ll take our money.

  13. Realme

I was feeling bad for Matt, being sick during his fave week of the year, but good grief, shut up about your sponsor’s app.

    1. Realme

“Sure, I’ll download an app I don’t want, so you can make money.” -idiots
