I guess we didn’t want Bama after all. Oh well, we can still win 10 games BBN!

On to Knoxville, and on to Duke!

    1. runningunnin.454

Closer than I would have thought with 2 lb’s playing with casts (how do you tackle with one hand?)
And, two key players ejected…Bunchy call was total BS.

    2. Booby Petrino

Bama would’ve made us look silly, I already knew that before the Georgia game. Bama is just so much better than everyone…scary good!

    3. runningunnin.454

Tua was limping badly at the end of the LSU game…guess he wasn’t used to playing in the 4th qtr.
Hurts is injured, too…Bama might have a problem going forward.

Bama *IS* scary good. They’ve had some good QB’s in the past (McCarron, McElroy), but they were still mostly about power running game. They’ve had nothing like this in the past on offense.

Speaking of the cast brothers, Jordan had that one dude stopped for no gain already and so the blow that was called for targeting was totally unnecessary. I think it would have been 4th down as well (or 3rd at least).

    5. J-Dub421

We don’t want Bama. I knew that before the Georgia game.

    6. chris gettelfinger is not walking through that door

So technically that was the 86 Bears that played that game in London.

I heard on the radio this morning that Tua apparently took a helmet to the groin that wasn’t called for targeting.

    7. chris gettelfinger is not walking through that door

      Reply fail about “da Bears”.

    8. J-Dub421

It wasn’t even targeting! The offensive player dropped down as Jordan Jones was tackling him which is what caused the “targeting.”

    9. Iamheasyouarehe

      LSU didn’t want Bama either.

    10. runningunnin.454

Yep, it’s natural for the offensive player to lower his head, too; and, there comes the targeting call. Many times, the defensive player has no intent to spear the guy.

    11. ClutchCargo

I blame this partially on the BS overuse of replays. The guy was stopped and the play should have been over. Officials don’t want to blow the play dead when it should be because they can just let the replay official figure it all out. And did I miss the part where they reviewed the targeting call? It seemed like he was tried, convicted and executed in about a 10 second span.

    12. J-Dub421

And another completely innocuous comment gets moderated. I would sincerely like to know what gets flagged for moderation.

    13. ClutchCargo

Moderation is the KSR equivalent of targeting. Ha!

    14. J-Dub421

Lol, and just like with targeting, they get the call wrong most of the time.

RG, I saw your comment about the 77 season and the GA game. I was in high school in GA at the time, and I was listening to that game on AM. I honestly can’t remember if I was listening to Cawood or a GA broadcast, but it was glorious. I don’t think I ever heard about Prince Charles being there. Was he a guest of Jimmy Carter?

    1. runningunnin.454

Yep, actually the British royalty liked to take in sporting events when over here. I think I remember the Queen attending a college football game, and the Prince of Wales went to a Navy game.

    2. chris gettelfinger is not walking through that door

American football has been really popular over there for years now. It seemed to start with the 85 Bears because they played a preseason game in London after they won the Super Bowl. I was in Scotland on a mission trip in 86 when that game was being played, and I remember one of my new Scottish friends at the congregation in East Kilbride (right outside Glasgow) sporting a Bears jersey (the Fridge’s number I think).

    3. chris gettelfinger is not walking through that door

So technically that was the 86 Bears that played that game in London. 😉

  3. J-Dub421

Terry did quite well against UGA. He was not the problem.

    1. ClutchCargo

Agree. He is just really underutilized still. But I think he took another sack just now.

    2. runningunnin.454

Yet, still, there were 3-4 commenters calling for a QB change. I gripe sometimes about play calls; but the people calling for Gran to be fired are over the top…I would really like to see them run the offense…just once.

    3. J-Dub421

There was a sack where he didn’t throw it away and should have. Several others, he had no time to throw and the defenders came straight through immediately after the snap.

    4. runningunnin.454

Ha ha Clutch, Clemson just scored another TD on UL.

    5. CATandMONKEY

Seemed like that every two sets of downs, a Georgia lineman or back was on Terry, totally untouched.

I don’t even think he got to two-Mississippi before getting hit.

    6. runningunnin.454

Maybe that’s the problem; just count one, two, three…and leave off Mississippi.

  4. J-Dub421

U of L is terrible and it’s hilarious! Petrino always was a jerk who ran up the score on other teams. He’s now reaping what he has sown.

    1. Booby Petrino

I met a Louisville fan yesterday and he was saying Petrino is out and Brohm is in. I just laughed and told him maybe if Jurich hadn’t ran off with sacks of money that could happen. After he assured me they had plenty of money to dump Petrino, he moved on to say that their basketball team was going to beat us this year and from now on bc “Coach Mack has Cal’s number, Cal can’t beat Mack.” LOL they are really great entertainment…until you get sick of laughing at them.

    2. runningunnin.454

I don’t understand why Brohm would want to leave a football conference to coach in the ACC. Besides, he’s doing pretty well where he is; Purdue has whipped two ranked teams the last couple of weeks.

    3. J-Dub421

I’ve yet to get sick of laughing at them.

    4. Booby Petrino

well you know Louisville fans, they think the ACC is a football and basketball conf w Clemson, FL State, Miami, and them being the traditional “football powerhouses”…LOL

    5. J-Dub421

Miami – 5-4, Fl. St. 4-5, Louisville 2-7. The ACC is Clemson and no one else.

    6. ClutchCargo

I can laugh at them until my jaws and abs are aching, but that doesn’t even stop me. Feel the burn! Ha!

    7. runningunnin.454

UL beat some little team by 49; but, their football team lost by more…lol.

    8. ClutchCargo

Pain from laughing at UofLi’lbro is just misplaced sympathy leaving the body.

  5. Realme

Can’t stay. Just wanted to say I wish that game would have been a little more exciting to watch, but I can’t be mad at being beat by an elite team. We’re great but they’re on another level.

    1. runningunnin.454

Still, I would have liked to see Jones and Daniel play without the casts…might have made a big difference.

    2. CATandMONKEY

Can we swap-out the club for a claw?

    3. runningunnin.454

      Maybe a hook…aarrrgh.

  6. J-Dub421

Shepherd’s Pie is easy to make. I make it all the time. And it’s traditionally made with ground lamb.
