Trucker Matthew Mitchell is the best Matthew Mitchell.

  2. ClutchCargo

Thank goodness for BBM so I can scratch that UK sports itch this weekend!

    1. chris gettelfinger is not walking through that door

Yeah, it’s hard to have an off week when the team has played so well, despite the outcome of the last game. I’m sure the team needed it though (I know they needed it to heal some injuries).

    2. J-Dub421

Yes, let’s heal up some nagging injuries (looking at you Drake Jackson) and reset in order to finish out the season strong.

    3. ClutchCargo

As much as I have enjoyed this season, I’m actually ready for a bye week. Being a UK football fan is so stressful, but in a good way this year.

    4. chris gettelfinger is not walking through that door

Yeah, close games aren’t good for my heart.

    5. chris gettelfinger is not walking through that door

Apparently I like the word “Yeah”.

  3. RealCatsFan

Did Matt just say “suffer through another winder” on his Universal Windows ad?

    1. ClutchCargo

What are the odds that a Kentuckian would make that mispronunciation for “winter” and not “window?” lol

    2. chris gettelfinger is not walking through that door

He does say that. The caller known as “I-man” on Finebaum, whose real name is Rusty, calls Bama fans he doesn’t like “winder lickers”. I’m not sure where that comes from.

BTW, RCF, I saw your comment late yesterday. You’re right, the days of no login required led to some very funny comments from folks posing as celebrities, etc.

    3. ClutchCargo

cg, it’s a derogatory term for someone who has a severe intellectual disability.

    4. chris gettelfinger is not walking through that door

The girl that licked Devin’s car was very close to being one literally.

    5. chris gettelfinger is not walking through that door

I had never heard that explanation.

    6. RealCatsFan

When I was a kid, our bus driver (called him “Mister Kenny”, looked like the troll who lives under the bridge) used to yell at us to “shut dem winders, g-dammit!” 😀

    7. ClutchCargo

More commonly used in the military, or at least it used to be. I never served, but I have lived most of my life around a lot of active duty and retired veterans.

  4. runningunnin.454

Herro may be most important player on the team; if he’s on the floor, they won’t be packing the paint.
No football this weekend…awwww; but, going to watch LSU/Georgia and wail like a banshee for the Tigers.
Got to go; everybody have great weekend.

    1. ClutchCargo

Yes! All of my football energies will be focused on LSU/UGA. I’m leaning toward doing a Cajun shrimp boil just for the occasion.

    2. chris gettelfinger is not walking through that door

I usually pull for UGA against anyone but the Cats, but I might have to be a traitor and change that this weekend. Remember though, if we win out in the SEC, we go to the ATL, so LSU doesn’t HAVE to win. I would like to go to ATL strong, with A&M our only loss.

    3. chris gettelfinger is not walking through that door

What time is dinner Clutch! I hacked your account and I’m on my way over. Ha!

    4. J-Dub421

I’ll bring the grits to pour those shrimp over! 😉

    5. ClutchCargo

Heck yeah, come on down. J-dub, just follow chris, he apparently knows the way. 🙂

    6. RealCatsFan

I love Cajun! How ’bout some craw-daddies? I cultivated a taste for Cajun cooking when I lived in Baton Rouge.

    7. chris gettelfinger is not walking through that door

After we moved to GA years ago, my uncle in Biloxi (stationed there for the Air Force) told us about folks in LA eating crawdads, as we always called them. He told my mom “They have festivals and everything!” I thought “Crawdads? Whuuuuut?” I didn’t know the half of it.

    8. ClutchCargo

RC, love me some mudbugs! I’ve never cooked them myself, but there is a seafood shop nearby that hauls them up from Alabama a couple of times a week and you can get them live or just get an order of them cooked right there. This is also where I discovered Conecuh sausage. .

    9. chris gettelfinger is not walking through that door

Clutch, sometimes when I drive to Mobile for my job, I see that tell-tale gray plume ahead in Evergreen. I roll down my windows and smell that sausage being smoked (it’s in Conecuh County, hence the name). The spicy Conecuh is the best colon cancer causing food you can eat!

BTW, the country congregation I used to preach for is in the sticks outside of Evergreen.

  5. RealCatsFan

Is anyone else getting nothing at all from 1080 on iHeart?

    1. chris gettelfinger is not walking through that door

I’ve had to switch to Firefox. iHeart doesn’t seem to play well with Chrome lately, unless it’s just my PC.

    2. J-Dub421

I often have struggles with iHeart, but I’m pretty sure it’s due to the shoddy wi-fi in my office (very old building).

  6. RealCatsFan

I have been watching some videos of the destruction down in the Panama City Beach area. All I can say is that it is very sobering. Total and complete destruction. We are going to go ahead and head down to Destin, but in a way I am going to feel a little guilty relaxing on vacation when I know that so many people will be suffering just a short distance away. Keep the folks down there in your prayers.

    1. J-Dub421

You will be injecting some much needed tourism dollars into the Florida economy.

    2. ClutchCargo

Absolutely. It is very sad to see a place with so many good memories for me and my family, just wiped out like that. And I know what you mean about feeling guilty relaxing in Destin. I’m not sure I could enjoy watching a football game in the Super Dome after what went down in there during Katrina. It’s been that long since I was in NOLA.

    3. chris gettelfinger is not walking through that door

RCF, try Stewbie’s Seafood Shanty in Ft. Walton. No beach view, but it’s half the price (or less) of the Crab Shacks and Dewey Destin’s, and the food is just as good or better.

    4. RealCatsFan

Thanks cg – I’ll check it out! If we have a grille available, might grill up some of our own fresh seafood too.

  7. J-Dub421

All these politicians are rich AF, they can start paying for their own security after they’re out of office. It shouldn’t be a life-long burden for the taxpayers.

    1. ClutchCargo

Thank you. I have never understood why something that is supposed to be a part-time job has a pension associated with it. Make it less of a cushy job and maybe only the people with actual good intentions will want it. Of course, the people with the power to make that happen are the ones already in there, so good luck with that.

    2. J-Dub421

That’s what happens when people can vote for their own raises, and choose certain perks for themselves that they would never give to their constituents. Congress should be forced to give up any pensions, and should get the exact same healthcare plans that they give to the rest of us. If it’s good enough for your constituents, then it’s good enough for you.

    3. RealCatsFan

Yep, the pigs will continue to nuzzle up to the feeding trough any time they have the chance.

    4. RealCatsFan

J-Dub, that is why it is no longer a democracy in America – it is a plutocracy.

    5. Iamheasyouarehe

During my time with the KY legislature I had to cater to every senator and representative, it was worse than dealing with children…you couldn’t tell them no for any reason.

    6. Iamheasyouarehe

RealCat it may be more of a kakistocracy.

    7. J-Dub421

      Corporate oligarchy.

    8. Iamheasyouarehe

I think all of the above are correct.

    9. J-Dub421

Meanwhile, Congress is forcing through another tax cut for the ultra wealthy.

  8. J-Dub421

When a 5* suddenly “falls into your lap” when you weren’t even recruiting him and he hasn’t even taken a visit to your school or talked to you, something shady happened.
