Kentucky’s Evan White earns his second Gold Glove award

Evan White has another Gold Glove award to go with his other Gold Glove award.

Now a two-time winner, White was named the Rawlings Sports Collegiate Gold Glove First Basemen for the 2017 season. He took in the prize for the first time around this time last year following the 2016 season.

White is considered one of the most accomplished players in Kentucky baseball history and he recently became the fifth Wildcat to be selected in the first round of the Major League Baseball Draft when the Seattle Mariners picked him at No. 17. He’s also a three-time member of the All-SEC Defensive Team in only three seasons at UK, as well as Second Team All-American and two-time SEC Academic Honor Roll member.

Go Cats.

According to UK Baseball’s Twitter feed, White has had 1478 defensive chances in his UK career.

1478 chances – and only TWO errors – in three years.

    Gold Glove, indeed!
