Kentucky Wins Final Series at The Cliff with Eighth Inning Rally

Elliott Hess | UK Athletics

The Cliff still has a little magic left in the tank. Trailing 1-0 for almost the entire game, the Bat Cats rallied to score four runs in the eighth inning to beat Mississippi State 4-1.

With no outs and two on, Kole Cottam turned a sac bunt into a hit. UK took the lead on the very next pitch with a Luke Becker line drive. A throwing error on the Bat Cats’ next bunt attempt scored two more runs to put UK up for good.

Kentucky will go for the sweep in The Cliff’s final game tomorrow at 3:00. Trey Huntsman will have much more from Cliff Hagan Stadium momentarily.
