Kentucky men’s soccer falls to Maryland 1-0 in the Elite Eight

The Kentucky men’s soccer team’s historic run in the NCAA Tournament has come to an end.

After reaching the Elite Eight for the first time in program history, the Wildcats fell by a final score of 1-0 to Maryland, ending their season.

Maryland’s Sebastien Elney scored at the 28:44 mark in the first half, and despite Kentucky was unable to respond the rest of the way. With only two shots on goal, the Cats were unable to get much of anything going against a stout Terrapin defense.

3,228 fans were in attendance at The Bell to cheer on Kentucky, the first home loss of the season.

The Wildcats’ season ends with a final record of 19-2-1, the most victories in program history.

Congratulations to the Kentucky men’s soccer team on such a special season.

I blame KSR mentioning “no lost november” chumps. Jack is wack. It would be better if he smoked crack.

      “no lost november”

That scored definitely “costed” them the game. Maybe he thought we couldn’t “loose” to anyone?

This is the level of intelligence we’re dealing with here. But “jAcK iS wHaCk”….

The Bell was awesome tonight. Even Vince Marrow watching from the fence. Maryland was the far better side. Better skill and possessed the ball more effectively. UK played far too much long ball and let their emotion get the better of them, aside from continually neglecting to have someone cover the back side on their numerous set plays. They’re young and the future is bright, though.

Doesn’t change how much we love these guys or how great a season it was! Thank you to the seniors and the entire team!
