Good to see from our new point-forward.

  2. Karl Towns

Karl Towns would like to thank Karl Towns first and foremost for this award. Karl Towns had to push Karl Towns and find the beast Karl Towns within Karl Towns. Gatorade has been great to Karl Towns this year and this is just the beginning of what Karl Towns has in store for the nation in which Karl Towns resides. As long as Karl Towns plays Karl Towns’s game, then Karl Towns’s abilities will speak for themselves, or himselves sorry I’m confusing Karl Towns.

    1. Karl Towns?

      Karl Towns.

    2. Jeb

      I don’t get it.

    3. Karl Malone

It must be the first name I reckon because Karl Malone’s first name is Karl, for Karl Malone.

When asked what he wants his legacy at St. Joe’s to be, Towns said he wanted people to remember that he didn’t do it alone:

“I just want them to know that Karl Towns worked hard every day to make sure that he could do something special,” he said. “Karl Towns didn’t just do it by himself. He had a big team part of him. He had not the Big Three as everyone says, he he had a Big Five. I want people when they look 20, 40 years down the road when we’re all old and coming back to school and can’t hear in one ear, that they know that this is the model of success. This team is a model of success.”

This kid is going to be so much better than people think. I can’t wait to watch him next year, I think he’ll be the best player in the country.

  4. Duuuuuude

He is the ultimate team player. I think that is what makes him speak in 3rd person at times…… I think it makes him uncomfortable to use the “I” word when speaking about himself which is what #2 above was joking about. I am excited about him as well. 7′, yet strokes the 3 like Nowitzki.

He’s a perfect fit for what Cal likes to do. Just imagine someone with versatility of T Jones who’s even taller and better shooter. We’ll be able to space the floor for drives or post ups for big Dakari or maybe WCS.

  7. hokus

well looks like the haters will hate again next year cal has good freshman class.

  8. Cayts

Nice work, Karl! We are going to have an awesome frontcourt next year! Dakari, Towns, Poythress, Lee, Lyles.

Not bad for the kid ranked #11 by Rivals and #10 by Scout.

Also, does anyone know the status of Towns with the Nike Hoops Summit? Seems like he should be on that team again.

Well deserved, a great kid on and off the court. Look at how much taller than Alonzo he is…. I saw he is over 7 feet tall. He is like up there with WCS.

There ye go. Congrats, Karl. Last national Gatorade POY we got was a certain Brandon Knight, if I’m not mistaken.

Right you are, Louie. And we all know that guy turned out to be “pretty good”. Haha.

Gonna be that way for 30 years or until you cry your way out of playing Kentucky!! You wanted to get your hands on the Big Cat, now you are trying to find someone to help you get away from “The Big Cat”!
