I love how it cuts from him in a Michigan uniform to him rocking blue and white. That’s brutal.

  2. UKCatAttack

Wow that was an intense video. I’m happy for the kid. Welcome to BBN.

  6. mashman 93

Sounds like he had a rough time after he committed to Michigan. Welcome to the #BBN young man.

  7. Cole28

Which service have him listed as a four-star? Appears that 247, Rivals, and ESPN all have him as a 3 star. I know it doesn’t really matter considering his talent, and our staff’s ability to spot that, but I was just curious.

    1. My Dixie Wrecked

The KSR made up recruiting service.

    2. Soylentbeans

Dixie all the rankings from all services are made up. They may be accurate most of the time but they are still made up.

    3. Cole28

“Whose Recruiting Service Is It Anyway?” Lol.

    4. TonyMontana

247 lists him as a 4-star. They even recently put up a story titled “4-star receiver Kalil Branham commits to Kentucky”. I dont care if he’s 1-star or 5-star, it’s easy to see he is extremely talented and a great kid. I’m excited he is coming here.

  8. bbn606

Great news, we need this guy.

  9. J-Dub421

    YAAASSS!!!!

  10. treeham3

    Wow, blessed young man…blessed BBN!

  11. NostraDanis

Wow, that’s a powerful commitment video.
Now, stand by for NCAA penalties for having God as an unregistered recruiter for the university.
    Welcome, young man!

    1. Bigblueswami

I don’t care who you are, that’s funny right there

    2. satcheluk

God was registered as a rep for Notre Dame and BYU, but he failed to apply for further exceptions. Dammit!

  12. kykid16

    Hopefully Buckeyes stay away

    1. Bigblueswami

What they gonna do? Tell the kid Buddha said get a second opinion?

  13. indycatdog

Kalil, come on down to THE hottest football program in the country. You’re our kind of guy!

  14. My Dixie Wrecked

I wonder why Ohio State never offered.

  15. UKfanman01

Man this kid is awesome. So sad that he was treated like that. If BBN wouldve known wed have shown up in droves. So glad this wonderful young man was able to fight through his tough times and so glad to have Kalil as a Wildcat!!!!

    ESPN: 3 stars
    Rivals: 3 stars
    247 composite: 3 stars
    247: 4 stars
KSR: 4 STAR ELITE PROSPECT PICKS KENTUCKY

    1. Soylentbeans

      And your point is?

    2. Soylentbeans

Plus I don’t see anywhere in this article that it says 4star elite prospect picks kentucky

  17. RealCatsFan

He picked an excellent number to wear. The Deuce is Loose!

  18. Ridge Runner

Still hard to get any excitement over football “commitments”. Anyway, great and hope it turns out.

    1. mashburnfan1

Don’t get excited, in fact don’t even click on it then. Moron, do you know that over 90% of these “commitments” actually play for UK. I like our odds and am excited to know that at least 10 of these early 12 commits will more than likely play for UK. And for those that “might” switch this staff will just find someone else. I guess you want us to go back to the days of beating out Ohio U, Marshall, EKU for recruits because all of those kids will stay since we are their best offer. This staff goes after players that most teams want, that means we will lose a few. How good is the program at Bama, OSU, LSU etc. Do you know they all have guys switch {both to and from} on actual signing day. Go run or jump off the Ridge.

    2. rartis1986

      Amen mash

    3. antiquefurnitureandmidgets

I think getting through 17 comments before this asinine statement gets made is a new record. If it’s hard for you to get excited then move the frick on. Aren’t you missing a Fellowship of the Miserable mixer somewhere?

    4. Ridge Runner

Sorry dude for the logical urine on your parade. But hey..it might work out.

    5. 4everUKblue

Ridge, don’t even acknowledge mashbum, he’s trying to apply all that has been used against him on all his basketball comments…except his are total bullsh!t.

  19. UKBigBlueForever

Mashburnfan1, you still confuse me. Do you have a split personality? Your football and basketball posts are like Jekyll and Hyde.

    1. Ridge Runner

Lol.. yeah, kinda scary quite honestly.

  20. Hal Chidick

    That video was impressive!!

  21. sckysportsink

    My new favorite Cat!

  22. SuperTroy18

Wow. This might be one of the most honest and intense commitment videos I’ve ever seen. This kid has a really good head on his shoulders for being so young. Cannot WAIT to get him in blue and white and see what he can do.

Also says a ton about our coaches and recruiters that we were there for him when he needed us most, even though he’d previously committed elsewhere. We are in good hands, BBN. This coaching staff seems to have a ton of integrity, even with the prosperity that has come the last few seasons. I love it!

    1. JoeBee

Exactly! Great video and he seems like a great guy!

  23. notFromhere

    THIS.IS.SPECTACULAR!!

  24. KYCat4EVER

    Welcome young man! God bless!

  25. dcforuk

Good to see Mashburn passionate about something! Perhaps he tries too hard to be too logical and totally embraces the “Emotion is your enemy” quote with basketball but totally embraces the “I define passion as extreme emotion” quote with football. We like the passionate Mashburn much more than the Negative Nancy Mashburn. I agree that you will always lose some football recruits. The more “commitments” of four stars we get, the more “net” pickups of four stars we get. Here is the cool thing. If you watched that video announcement, this kid is more mature than all of us, including myself and especially b-ball Mash, posting on this blog. Four-star commitment is great. Four star commitment that is that transparent, humble and gives all the Glory to God simply rocks! Excellent stuff!
