Happy birthday to Quade Green and Mohamed Bamba

Today’s a very special day for two very special players in the 2017 class: future Cat Quade Green and potential future Cat Mohamed Bamba. How crazy is it that the two friends and EYBL teammates were born on the same day in 1998? Green has been the frontman on Bamba’s recruitment, and after Kevin Knox made his announcement on Saturday, celebrated by turning towards the bench at the Ball is Life All-American Game (which Bamba also participated in) and yelling, “Mo, you next!”

No news on Bamba, other than he’s at home in Harlem focusing on his decision, which he plans to make before the NBA Draft next month. In the meantime, I’ll take solace in PJ Washington’s Instagram video from last weekend:

It’s fate Mo, you gotta come to BBN now!

Mo Bamba is such a different kid than we are used to seeing. I just don’t think he wants to be the ‘next’ anyone. He wants to make a name for himself. That’s the only thing that may hurt Kentucky in his recruitment. Even in that video, he just looks like he’s thinking ‘man, the entire BBN is going to see this and jump to conclusions about my decision’ CATS

Thinking men like to maximize their earning potential, and going anywhere else is likely going to cost the kid money in the NBA.

We need to send Mo some of Ellen’s birthday brownies pronto!
