Dontaie Allen’s senior season is over. The future Wildcat is out for the year with a torn ACL suffered during Pendleton County’s game vs. Cooper on December 22. Allen broke the bad news on Twitter this afternoon, and his coach Keaton Belcher confirmed it to the Herald-Leader.
Dear Senior Tour, you’re being cut short. You brought many blessings and hardships to me that I wouldn’t trade for the World. God blessed me with talent and work ethic, but he’s not going to let me stop now.. thank you all!! I will be back & better than ever!!??

KSR initially heard the injury was season-ending, but Allen’s camp held out hope until a third MRI today confirmed the bad news. He averaged 42.9 points and 14.2 rebounds per game this season and had 3,255 points in his high school career, the most in Pendleton County High School history and the 10th most in KHSAA history. He had a double double in every game this season.
Best of luck to Dontaie in his recovery. Minor setback for a major comeback in Lexington.
UPDATE: John Calipari just shared these comments on Allen’s injury on Twitter.
I look forward to having him on our campus a lot more now!
