Could Montaque Gill-Caesar reclassify to 2014?

Teki

Over the weekend, 2015 small forward Montaque Gill-Caesar took an unofficial visit to Kentucky, and had such a good time that he’s talking about reclassifying to 2014. Gill-Caesar, nicknamed “Teki,” told ZagsBlog that he “felt comfortable” at Kentucky, and that Cal talked to him about who’s possibly leaving after this season and the opportunities he may have in Lexington. Teki plays for Huntington Prep, and his coach Rob Fulford implied that the number of players leaving UK for the NBA after this season may have the 6’6″ 200 lbs. junior thinking of reclassifying:

“They have to bring in more guys,” Huntington Prep coach Rob Fulford told SNY.tv. “Obviously, losing most of the current team, they need guys that can come in and play. He knows that Teki is good enough, whether ’14 or ’15.”

Teki is considered the 19th best player in the 2015 class by ESPN, has offers from Providence, Illinois, Baylor, Memphis, Missouri, and others, and says he hasn’t decide yet whether or not he’ll make the jump to 2014. If he does, he could be a nice back-up option if the Cats miss on Stanley Johnson, the best small forward left in the class.

Watch him work:

  3. Ugh

I guess we aren’t getting Johnson. Ugh.

It looks like Cal has moved on from Johnson. This is potentially great news if it works out for us with Gill-Caesar. If 2-3 players re-classify from 2015 to 2014 and commit to the cats, I hope there is some talent left for the 2015 class.

Obviously Johnson is the number one prize. But if we do miss on him Gill-Caesar could be a great pick up for the 2014 class. Plus, this would leave a lot of talent still left at the top of the 2015 class.

I know this is petty but I really hate dealing with Huntington Prep after the whole Wiggins fiasco…

Patrick Patterson went to Huntington Prep. Your point is invalidated.

    2. Ashland

Pat went to Huntington high. With OJ mayo. Not Huntington prep.

The kid looks solid, would love to see Cal bring him in with the 2014 Class, or even 2015, however it works out. My only worry is he plays for Huntington Prep, which seems to surround their program with anti-UK/pro Loserville fans.

Waste of time, just using the CATS in an attempt to bounce up his rating;PPat went to Huntington High, I don’t think Huntington Prep was even “established” when PPat was in High School. He will turn into a Wiggins and go to where ever he thinks he can be the “man”.

SCREW Hunnington Prep. Dont recruit anyone from that crap wagon. Its the shadiest basketball factory in the country, and a DIRTY ADDIDAS money filter. STAY AWAY from this kid, nothing personal but he chose to play at that sh!t hole.

How is it an Adidas filter when they have Nike jerseys like in the pic?
