Another national analyst predicts Mohamed Bamba to Texas

Kevin Knox showed us it’s not wise to read too much into the “expert” predictions in 247 Sports’ Crystal Ball, but today, the site’s national college basketball writer Kevin Flaherty picked Texas for Mohamed Bamba, the latest in a wave of momentum for the Longhorns in the big man’s recruitment. Kentucky still has 48% of the predictions, including recruiting guru Jerry Meyer’s, but I personally will take some comfort in the words of Evan Daniels, who told Ben Roberts that there’s practically zero word from Bamba’s camp, other than he’s probably down to Kentucky and Texas.

“I have nothing new. I wish I did,” Daniels said. “Mohamed is certainly taking his time, and he’s going through this process a little differently. … We’ll see how it plays out.”

While we wait on Bamba, let’s enjoy his latest highlights. If he commits to Kentucky while I’m in Italy, that means I have to stay there for good luck, right?

      catsarerunnin pretty much nailed it!

If there’s no news from his camp I’m confused on how these “experts” pick Texas? Not that it even matter but you would think they would stick with their original prediction until they have more info and not just follow the footsteps of other experts.

either he comes or he doesn’t, but I’m curious where people hear this noise from. Who was rattling Duke and UNC around for Knox, and Texas for Bamba?

The “experts” do what they always do, they close their eyes, throw a dart at a board and where it stuck is who they pick. Real scientific like.

    Another news worthy stunning development

Listening to Bamba talk, he sounds very intelligent. He understands Cal is his best shot at going number 1 in the draft.

    (Experts – Bahahaha)
….. and while we’re speaking our minds
Once upon a time Team Kentucky was the leader for Darrel Dawkins and Poodle Willoughby. Both went to the NBA instead of Kentucky. They were replaced by Rick Robey and Mike Phillips…..and we won a National title. So if Diallo goes pro and Bamba goes to Texas, all is not lost…..just sayin!

Would have been great to have seen Chocolate Thunder and The Poodle playing together…

While in law school at UK I remember talking to Ray Edelman about Daryl Dawkins, and asking him about where Robey and Phillips would play if he came to UK. Ray immediately replied: “the bench!” Dawkins was that good, as we all now know.

None of these “experts” had Knox to UK. How do I get that job? I can make guesses all day if I’m never called out on it. Even better job than the weatherman!
