You’re looking at Austin Kendall, a 4-star pro-star quarterback in the 2016 class. Kendall, a Charlotte, North Carolina native, is considered the 8th best pro-style QB and the 203rd overall player in the 2016 class by 247 Sports, and is looking at Kentucky, NC State, and Tennessee. Kentucky’s edge? His brother, Ryan, will walk-on at UK this fall as a wide receiver.
247 Sports’ Steve Wiltfong interviewed Austin today, who said that he’s planning on visiting Kentucky next Wednesday, his second trip to campus. Austin says that having his brother on the team is a big plus for him:
“My brother is going there as a walk-on receiver,” Kendall said. “I went up there and got an offer and that’s when they really noticed my older brother. After we left we got back in touch and they said I didn’t know we had two athletes in the room and we’d like to have him walk-on. He’s a possession receiver and he can catch the ball. They think he can earn a scholarship. When I went on my visit there, the whole staff wasn’t there so when I get up there next week I’ll finally be able to meet them and establish a relationship with the whole staff instead of just Coach (Neal) Brown.”
Kendall’s Crystal Ball currently sits at 57% UK, 43% Tennessee. Come on down and enjoy yourself, Austin.
