Twenty-two Kentucky Wildcats have qualified for the 2019 NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships. Eleven men and 11 women finished in the top 12 over the weekend in the East Prelims at the University of North Florida to qualify for the big dance.
A pair of men flirted with records. Daniel Roberts ran the second-fastest 110-meter hurdles in NCAA history with a 13.13, while his teammate Tai Brown broke an SEC freshman record he set earlier this year in the same event.
On the women’s side, Marie-Josée Ebwea-Bile Excel will return to nationals for the third straight season. The hurdler has medaled each year at the NCAA Championships. The senior will try to end her UK career with a gold medal.
Both the men and women’s 4×100 relay team qualified for the NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championship. The 22 Wildcats will take the big stage June 5-8 in Austin, Texas.
