Kentucky’s search for a kickoff return touchdown continues into the 2018 season.
The last time the Cats had a kickoff returned for a touchdown, Derrick Locke went 100 yards vs. Louisville in 2009. Lynn Bowden was six yards away from ending that eight-year skid against Vanderbilt. The dynamic freshman playmaker was one tackle away from snapping the streak multiple times, but none were closer than this:
Surprisingly, Bowden did not enter the end zone one time in 2017. He did return six kicks for more than 30 yards, ranked second in the SEC, and accounted for 1,149 all-purpose yards to earn a spot on the SEC All-Freshman Team.
