May I make a Kroger Field song request?

A couple of weeks ago I played a song on Kentucky Sports Radio radio that I thought would be a great addition to the playlist in Kroger Field. It’s by a lovely band out of the Memphis area called Three 6 Mafia. I’ve been a big fan of their work for a long time, especially their earlier stuff. (R.I.P. Lord Infamous)

Anyway, I got some good feedback from listeners that day so I thought I’d move it on over here to the website for more to hear. I know there’s nothing a DJ hates more than song requests, but I think this one is worth considering.

It’s the instrumental to “I Got” by Three 6 Mafia and its beat is the popular “Zombie Nation” (which we already do) plus the Three 6 hip-hop touch.

Give it a listen (stick to the instrumental, not the real version unless you want to hear bad words) below:

Move over Moon River – this melody is outstanding!

Eh, nothing more iconic than Audrey Hepburn singing Moon River sitting on the stoop of a NYC brownstone in Breakfast at Tiffanys.

      Uuuum, NO! This is lame.

Ugh. Just awful. Leave the music to STD. The rest of you are clueless.

They should play Wildcat by Ratatat. It’s all instrumental, except for the wildcat roar. Would love to hear it played in Rupp as well.

Drew, well done!! That was really badass. I’m 38 and I remember jamming 3 6 back in the day. Don’t listen to these Nancy’s who want more Toby Keith played at the games.

So I understand, are you calling Toby Keith a Nancy?

Technically that popular beat is from the song “Star Dust” on the classic C64 game “Lazy Jones” composed by David Whitaker. It was sampled (without permission) by Zombie Nation (which is the name of the band, not the track) for the track “Kernkraft 400.”

And I’m okay with almost anything except that awful “We’re from Kentucky!” atrocity that they used to play after the 3rd quarter. That was such an embarrassment.

    ‘Shell Yeah’ by Montgomery Gentry.

    1. Iamheasyouarehe

You should be able to get Eddie Montgomery to reword the lyrics. It would be like Hank doing all my rowdy friends for the Monday Night Football.

Damned auto correct. Snell yeah by Eddie Montgomery.

So I think there needs to be an effort to play “Stupified” by Disturbed. Get STOOP-IFIED. RAGHH!!!

    1. SkeeterBeater

Actually its “Stupify” … but still

Typical game day music sucks. This would just make it where fans can’t join in. I’ll pass! For once play “the Jungle”. I would also like Cherub Rock by smashing pumpkins and more bush machine head. Bc the music now doesn’t get me hyped. And stop the stupid steam whistle and hell’s bells crap! Please. It doesn’t get people hype.
