Kentucky shined in the Citrus Bowl’s New Year’s Day spotlight.
The TV ratings have been released for this year’s slate of college football bowl games. Outside of the New Year’s Six, the Citrus Bowl was the most-watched bowl game with a 4.4 rating on ABC. More than 7.7 million viewers watched Mark Stoops’ Kentucky Wildcats defeat the Penn State Nittany Lions.
It’s the second straight year Kentucky has played postseason football in front of a large audience. The 2017 Music City Bowl was the third-most watched non-New Year’s Six game with more than 4.6 million viewers.
Kentucky completed all of its Citrus Bowl goals. Josh Allen put on a show, Benny Snell broke a record, the Cats brought home hardware and they did it all in front of massive audience. Of the almost eight million viewers, I have a feeling a few of them are prospective Kentucky football players.
