Kentucky receives zero votes in latest AP Top 25

Another weekend of college football has come and gone, which means it’s time for an updated AP Poll of the nation’s top-25 teams. Once again, Kentucky did not make the cut.

That’s not too surprising, as the AP hadn’t included the Wildcats in their Top-25 list even before their gut-wrenching loss to Florida. However, it’s baffling Kentucky didn’t even receive a single vote. Saturday’s game against the No. 9 team in the nation came down to a “couple of inches,” as Coach Stoops likes to say. UK was winning for three quarters, and yet Florida remains in the top 10, while UK didn’t earn a single vote.

So far this season, Kentucky has only received two votes, and those came following week two.

Here’s a look at the entire list as we head into week four of the season:

  1. 1. Clemson
  2. 2. Alabama
  3. 3. Georgia
  4. 4. LSU
  5. 5. Oklahoma
  6. 6. Ohio State
  7. 7. Notre Dame
  8. 8. Auburn
  9. 9. Florida
  10. 10. Utah
  11. 11. Michigan
  12. 12. Texas
  13. 13. Penn State
  14. 13. Wisconsin
  15. 15. UCF
  16. 16. Oregon
  17. 17. Texas A&M
  18. 18. Iowa
  19. 19. Washington State
  20. 20. Boise State
  21. 21. Virginia
  22. 22. Washington
  23. 23. California
  24. 24. Arizona State
  25. 25. TCU

Kentucky’s next opponent, Mississippi State, did not make the cut but did receive 73 votes.

Now onto this week’s coaches poll, where Kentucky typically fares a bit better. That’s true again this week, as the Cats accumulated 14 votes from coaches across the country.

Let’s hope the Cats use this as another piece of locker room motivation.

We should have zero votes. Nuff said.

Give us a couple of weeks and hopefully we have earned some votes.

Hahahahaha Really!!! Why would we after that performance.

  3. BlueTXHeart

You don’t get votes for moral victories

Its just crazy. We hit a fg and stop them on the last drive and win then we are likely top 20 (everything else in the game couldve stayed the same). Instead u miss the fg and lose and no votes. Everything based on the final score and not total play. Our play even convinced Florida fans that they arent even that good, when they came in pumping their chests with a top 10 ranking.

I still believe we are a top 25 team overall. Just gotta have 1 call go our way and make a FG.

Really???? We are NOT a top 25 team. Hahahahaha unbelievably funny that anyone would think we are.

What’s the most laughable MOST pathetically sad thing about all this is that YOU season 3 dickx2, must have no life at all that all you do is get on KSR 100x a day and look to piss people off cause your so miserable in your own life… just sad really. I feel bad for you.

Thank you so much for your sympathy nick05. Your absolutely right, I am so sad and miserable. But, yea we are NOT a top 25 team. We deserve exactly what we got, ZERO votes. Congrats to you for being so awesome and having the greatest life ever.

If Florida is a top 10, then yes we are top25 team. Final score isnt indicative of how we played for 80% of the game. Just gotta finish. I mean Maryland was ranked 21 and lost to Temple… just saying

Florida is not a top 10 team

    LSU
    Auburn
    UGA
    Mizzou

    Will all whip Florida

Which makes the UK loss worse. Florida looked like garbage. How bad must Miami be this year?

    4. cats646

Lol. Limp dik is back!! It must still be an awful time to be a Louisville fan huh?

  6. BigBertha

We got no votes because we lost. It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to figure that out.

  7. John Capilari

This poll is garbage. Win the next two and we’ll get some respect.

Unfortunately, unless we compete with a ranked team, we will likely temain outsidethe velvet ropes of the top 25.

As of now, we lost to one of the only 2 teams currently rated on our schedule.

I just do not see this team beating Georgia unless something extremely radical changes.

Beating unranked teams, will keep you in the top 25, but it is not a way to get you in the top 25.

We lost our best chance this year with the game ladt night.

      Kudzu eats poopie.

UK doesn’t deserve any votes. Gave the game away to FL so why would they get votes. They’ll lose next week to Miss St.

  10. My Dixie Wrecked

Really? Does anyone here really think UK belongs in the top 25? If you do, you’re delusional.

    1. cats646

Does anyone on here think Utah, Penn St., California, TCU, etc. belong in there?? Cause they don’t.

  11. UKfanman01

Are you serious? A team that blew the lead, yet again, against UF in the 4th! As long as Eddie Gran runs the offense we will rarely, if ever, cover the spread. Leads will diminish. AJ Rose up the middle or to the right. Our kicker can’t hit chip shots from the right side of the field and that’s where Rose will set him up 100% of the time. 1st and 15 we will run it up the middle.

on que.. ksr covering Kentucky sports in a rediculous manner. I am surprise the headline wasn’t ,Kentucky gets zero votes as the #1 team’. Keep up the funny posts.

All that most of the voters saw was the final score of 29-21 which doesn’t tell the whole story.

      A loss is a loss.
