Kentucky comes in at No. 31 in latest AP Poll

The latest AP Poll was not as kind to the Kentucky Wildcats as the Coaches Poll released earlier today.

Kentucky came in at No. 31 on AP’s list, six spots lower than the Coaches Poll (No. 26) had them ranked.

Iowa (64 votes), Boise St. (62), Duke (61), Colorado (49), and California (40) were all listed above Kentucky, who managed 38 total votes.

Mississippi State is ranked No. 14, while Texas A&M  comes in at No. 22, both the same as their place in the Coaches Poll. Georgia is ranked one spot higher, coming in at No. 2 in the nation, Kentucky’s last ranked opponent of the season.

Regardless, a win over Mississippi State would certainly shoot the Cats into the top-25, and likely into the top-20. Let’s just do that to avoid any question going forward.

(I like the Coaches Poll better anyway)

Still trying to figure out how Boston College is ranked when they haven’t played anyone close to being ranked, yet we beat 25th ranked UF at UF and apparently it just isn’t impressive.

Jack I agree with you I’ve always liked the coaches polls they are more knowledgeable when it comes to the teams. And that goes for basketball too.

They can play better with a chip on their shoulders and something to prove, make them earn it
