The NFL Draft will have to wait one more year for Josh Allen. The Kentucky outside linebacker announced in a statement on Twitter he will return to Kentucky for his fourth and final season in 2018.
Mark Stoops told KSR last week that he had multiple conversations before and after the bowl game with UK’s NFL-ready underclassmen. Stoops’ goal was to provide his players with accurate information prior to their decision. Stoops is pleased Allen opted to stay in Lexington one more year.
Stoops Tweeted: “Excited to get Josh Allen back for his senior season–great teams are built on senior leaders and playmakers!”
The Kentucky Blitz Bro led the SEC in sacks for much of the season. The All-SEC second team selection finished the year with 65 tackles, 9.5 tackles for loss and 7 sacks. Mock drafts projected Allen between the second and fourth rounds, but an additional year could launch him into the first round.
