Kentucky’s Blitz Bro is in elite company.
Today Josh Allen was named First Team All-SEC by Pro Football Focus. The media outlet grades film on each player and Allen was ranked as the No. 2 edge rusher in the SEC, just slightly behind South Carolina’s Dante Sawyer.
Allen led the SEC in sacks for most of the first half of the season after a hot start, but cooled off down the stretch as injuries piled up. He finished the season tied for sixth in the SEC with seven sacks. Allen also had a team-high 10.5 tackles for loss, he was fourth on the team with 58 tackles, he picked off a pass and forced two fumbles.
Arguably his most impressive stat illustrates what he did to opposing quarterbacks. Allen had 40 total QB pressures, the third-most among draft-eligible SEC edge defenders.
