    I hope not

    1. damage_control

Why the hell not!?!!? 18 year old kid made a mistake! It happens people! Miami fans sure are freaking out about this news! Be happy!

    2. TheAssman

I agree “ready”….if you don’t want to be at UK and then come crying home when things go bad, sorry bout your luck but keep walking.

    3. BigolBlue

      Yep. I agree ass

    4. damage_control

So if Tua wanted to transfer here, you’d say “TOO BAD! YOU DIDN’T PICK UK FIRST” What about Terry? He picked Oregon first! So stupid. I’m done.

    5. TheAssman

1st of all wake up you mental midget…this is UK, i don’t think a 5* QB is gonna’ come knocking on UK’s door. Go back to coloring, I hope you stay in the lines but I doubt you do, just get that feeling.

    6. Miller45

That took some real cunning and wit

    7. ready4nineNOW

Tua didn’t commit twice to U.K. . You sir are stupid. And Jarren did pick us first, then second. Then said dueces. Sorry buddy, But you are the guy who’s wife cheats on him and begs for her back. Not for me.

    8. Miller45

      Seriously r49n wake up

  2. Realme

Well, Terry (9-3 in his first season), the other 2 qb’s, and the 2 we signed today will be delighted to hear that.

    1. damage_control

Terry’s got the job- Williams will not be eligible next year. If Gunnar transfers then next year we’d have a freshman backup. I’d say it would be a brilliant pickup! That way Terry’s senior season he can be groomed as the starter for the following year and have 2 years getting to know the offense before he’d actually be called on as the starter (barring injury of course).

    2. StuckinLville

Coach stoops and company believed in this kid before he climb the rankings. He thought the grass was greener somewhere else and clearly it wasn’t so that is his loss. That is not fair to any of the guys I have committed to be a part of the team for this guy to come in after having sperm the program twice.

    3. Realme

Ok, I didn’t realize you still have to sit out if you already did sit out for enough of a season to red shirt. Still a weird look to sign 2 guys and then immediately take a transfer they probably didn’t know would be added to the group in front of them.

    4. Realme

Yikes, Stuck. Spermed the program!?! What a jerk.

    5. StuckinLville

      Spurned lol dumb talk text

    6. damage_control

    7. damage_control

Eligibility-wise – Jarren’s still a freshman, so why on Earth would you say that he’s not welcome here anymore?!?!? DUMB!!

    8. damage_control

      Not directed at you RealMe.

    9. ClutchCargo

Hahaha! He should have been a lock for UofLOL.

    10. runningunnin.454

TWICE? Did we even get a kiss?

  3. original slappy

    Fool me once…

  4. Smyrna_Cat

    Facts are optional

  5. John Henry

I think Matt Jones is as surprised as the rest of us. If we knew he was going to quit Miami and ask to come back to Kentucky then we signed two high school QB’s and have a QB that can play for two more years. Well, that sucks for us. If this is true will Allen at Lex Catholic start looking to get out of town. Where would he fit in?

    1. ClutchCargo

I somewhat agree with this. But you can’t hold spots for guys who may or may not develop as expected, you have to take the best talent you can get.

  6. terwilliger

Meh. Maybe he comes here maybe he doesn’t. But if you’re a UK fan I don’t see how you could get excited over this “news”. Kid dissed us twice. Do what you want kid but don’t expect everyone to kiss your ass and hang on your every move.

    1. JerryCat

Oh how pompous us UK fans have gotten in such a short period of time.

    2. damage_control

Lighten up Francis – the kid made a mistake. I bet you wouldn’t want to be judged by some of the mistakes you made at 18 yrs old.

    3. StuckinLville

stop saying he made a mistake. He committed twice confirm that he was going to stay with us and then decommitted anyway kid play too many games how do you think he’s going to be when he’s on campus? Its called integrity

    4. damage_control

      He made a mistake.

    5. damage_control

I’m sure you were the picture of integrity at 18 years old.

    6. ClutchCargo

There is no such thing as pride in football recruiting. You take the best talent you can get. Period.

    7. JASUN74

Clutch you said everything and more buddy. Thanks for holding these fools in check. Butthurt people are so funny. Good one Jerrycat. How true it is. Lol. It’s pitiful really. Poor me, a kid hurt me and I don’t ever want to see him again.

He’s a talented , highly ranked Quarterback that would be a unbelievable backup to Terry in case he got hurt when Terry is a senior. Just wow.

It’s a wonder we can get anyone to come here in the first place, with the kind of fans we have. If we offer, you sign that paper right now and give us a quart of blood,!! If not, hell no we don’t want you.

  7. JerryCat

Love this. QBs are a fickle being. There’s always a seat in the QB room for a top 100 player.

    1. mashburnfan1

Can’t have enough QB’s because nobody knows how good they will actually be. Rankings at this position are the toughest to go by. Still he was not good enough to see the field t Miami and the QB they used was not very good? If it is him this is tough, I mean he did quit on us before he even started, the staff thought they had a QB then had to scramble. ASU just signed 3 QB’s so like I said you can’t have enough, I guess we should bring in as many as we can, even a guy that quit on us, and hopefully find one great one and a more than capable backup. We have a couple years to see how they work out.

  8. JerryCat

If he redshirted at Miami, does he still need to sit out a year for transferring?

    1. damage_control

Yes- he still has to sit out next year.

  9. kydrummer

I think its, going to be Xaiver Peters LB from Florida St

    1. damage_control

Nope. Check Matt’s twitter- FOR THE RECORD- I GUESSED IT BEFORE MATT PUT THAT UP!! LOL!!

  10. StuckinLville

No way should they take a commitment from this kid. He played around with the coaches and committed twice and ultimately chose to go somewhere else as they say you make your bed lie in it. Besides we look pretty good at the QB position we don’t need him.

  11. Realme

By the way I love it if this is Matt’s big secret and Tyler stole his thunder with his own website.

    1. damage_control

She stole it from me- Look at the comment sections of the last 2 posts!

    2. Realme

Tyler would need to write and post an article really fast for her to have “stolen” the idea from you. Probably she saw the same media speculation from Florida that lots of people did.

    3. damage_control

I know- I wasn’t being serious. I’m just super proud of myself that I guessed it before it went public.

    4. damage_control

Do you have my prize money, or should I talk to someone else about it?

    5. Realme

I think you call the show and ask Matt. 🙂

    6. Mathlete

Gotta point out that Matt doesn’t get paid for knowing stuff unless it goes on the website. It’s probably less stolen thunder and more almost free money

  12. UK Fan In Nashville

HUGE if true! This kid is a stud.

    1. mashburnfan1

Miami did not have good QB play this year and they never gave him a chance so they must not have seen anything worth while.

    2. ClutchCargo

Or they stuck with their plan of redshirting him for development.

  13. Jesus H. Chrysler

I’ll pass. Not interested: our QB future is bright with those 2 kids we got today.

    1. damage_control

Who you know nothing about. Gotcha skippy

    2. Dylan101

And what exactly do you know about Williams? I

    3. damage_control

I know he’s 6’2″ 210 lbs – top 100 player, top 5 Pro style QB in his class. Any of those new guys say the same?

    4. Dylan101

Yeah, that’s what I thought.. You know nothing

    5. damage_control

That’s what I thought about you first!

    6. Dylan101

Rambling off his height/weight and his ranking doesn’t prove you know anything about him. You should know by now as a U.K. fan rankings mean nothing.

    7. damage_control

U.K. fan? Me? Nah dog, I hate England.

    8. damage_control

Rankings mean nothing- it’s just a total coincidence that the top teams get the most 4 & 5 star recruits every year.

    9. chardun20

Ask UofL that, they have mostly 2 ?? players, see how it worked out for them.

    10. Dylan101

Yeah.. At Kentucky rankings mean nothing.. Ever heard of Josh Allen? Benny Snell? ??

    11. Dylan101

You know nothing more about Williams and his potential in college than any of the newcomers we have coming in.

    12. ClutchCargo

It’s silly to say rankings don’t mean anything, based on a few instances of guys turning out to be better than they were ranked. Rankings do mean something, they just don’t mean everything.

    13. Dylan101

Only a few? Really? What do you consider to be a few ?

    14. Dylan101

The MAJORITY of Kentucky’s great players have been three stars or lower. This isn’t Alabama/Georgia/Clemson. At Kentucky, rankings mean nothing.

    15. ClutchCargo

@Dylan101 – and the MAJORITY of UK’s football seasons have been mediocre or far worse. Does that seem like a coincidence to you? It takes not only talent in the starting lineup, but talented depth to win like those teams you mentioned. So yes, rankings mean a lot, even at Kentucky..

    16. Dylan101

That has nothing to do with my original point. Damage Control was promoting Williams while dismissing our new comers simply because he was ranked higher. The truth is, none of you know shit about Jarren Williams or how successful he’ll be in college. There’s been dozens of examples of 2/3 star recruits turning into studs, many of whom play in the NFL. A lot more than “just a few.”

    17. ClutchCargo

Okay, let’s go with dozens. Dozens of 2 and 3 star recruits turning into really good or even great players, compared to the thousands of players who have come through the program isn’t something you can depend on for long term success. Sure, there will be some under the radar types that are actually better than their ranking, but the ones that are 4 and 5 stars, you can count on them being good. I’m actually happy with the QB’s we already have coming in, so that’s not a knock on them.

  14. Bigblueswami

My guess is WR Meechi Harris

    1. damage_control

Matt Jones Twitter gave it away already – it’s Williams

  15. UKBaker24

If he comes here I won’t really care either way, I’m definitely not like those on here who say he shouldn’t be allowed here since he didn’t sign with us lol that’s childish to me. But I will say if this is the mystery transfer I will be slightly disappointed because Matt has really hyped this up and I’m expecting something bigger than Jarren Williams. Maybe I have my sights too high

    1. damage_control

Higher than a top 100 QB?!?! Damn dude who’d you think it was Tua??

  16. JohnnyCheeseSticks

Still hoping that Eddie Gran transfers.

  17. BullittCoCat

“I’m so angry about adding another 4-star to a 9-3 football team.” – KSR Comment Section

    1. damage_control

    2. cats646

Ha! If you think about it, it proves that we’ve come a long way. We have fans b!tching about getting a 4 star QB!!! I love it!

    3. chardun20

Amazing isn’t it? Can’t please everyone.

  18. Grazilla

I think we should pass. I like Terry, Gunnar, Nik, and Gilmore. Sign him and prob forget Devonta Lee.

    1. damage_control

    2. Grazilla

Hey @damagecontrol – you talking about me or you?

    3. damage_control

      yo mamma

    4. Grazilla

My mom still thinks Lorenzen is on the team but whatever. I was hoping for Xavier Peters to be this mystery transfer.

    5. ClutchCargo

Hopefully there is an even more mysterious transfer. Looking at you, Xavier Peters…

    6. Blue Bill

I texted the text machine a few times through the season saying I bet He regretted his decision, after watching Miami suck and him not playing. He could’ve been here starting already…

  19. bwise

Terry is the answer…is the funniest thing….because no he’s not. If you want to be mediocre then sure….otherwise let’s bring in any qb that can’t help us compete. I like the way the ball looks coming out of Armani ‘s hand and this kid was a high profile recruit. Want a qb I can trust and terry has given no one a reason to trust him. Lettttssse goooo!

    1. bwise

  20. letsroll76

it’s real simple if he has talent we take him it talent makes wining easier .

    1. ClutchCargo

      letsroll76 gets it.

  21. hal9944

We are good a qb for a few years. Thank u, next!

Unless he wants to play TE/WR

    1. damage_control

Terry has 2 more years of eligibility left. Williams has 4 years of eligibility left.

    2. bwise

Watch a different sport then….because you clearly didn’t understand the problems we’ve had a qb this year and to turn down anybody with talent at uk is idiotic. “We are good for two years.” Lmao man….

    3. ClutchCargo

You sure about that 4 years, damage_control? That would require a 6th year, including sitting out next year, which he wouldn’t get unless he was granted a medical redshirt.

    4. damage_control

Yes I’m sure. He appeared in one game this yr as a freshman so he’s still a freshman eligibility wise. He doesn’t burn a year of eligibility by sitting out next year

    5. damage_control

He might have to attend grad school at UK but he should still have eligibility in his 6th year in college

    6. ClutchCargo

Division I five-year clock: If you play at a Division I school, you have five-calendar years in which to play four seasons of competition. Your five-year clock starts when you enroll as a full-time student at any college. Thereafter, your clock continues, even if you spend an academic year in residence as a result of transferring; decide to red shirt, if you do not attend school or even if you go part-time during your college career.

    7. ClutchCargo

He would have 4 years remaining only at Miami or if he is somehow determined eligible to play immediately next year.

    8. michaelb

Clutch is right he would only have 3 seasons of eligibility (3 playing seasons) if he were to come here and sit his first year as a wildcat .

    9. michaelb

I don’t really get why he has to sit out two seasons concurrently if he already red shirted last year. That red shirt season wasn’t good enough? Sounds pretty dumb to have to go through that . I don’t think a kid should have to sit out any time for a transfer for a legit reason in my mind

  22. shelby

I predicted last year that he would transfer out; i knew he’d never see the field there. Mac Wilson will never play at Bama either.

  23. Teamhhc1

Our defense carried us to 9 wins. QB play costed us losses.

    1. J-Dub421

You used “costed” which isn’t even a word. You lost all credibility.

    2. bwise

He’s completely lit right though lol

    3. Teamhhc1

Sorry I’m not perfect like you!

    4. 2Dogs

Actually I think he losted all credibility.

    5. ClutchCargo

Maybe the QB’s worked together to calculate the direct cost overhead to be allocated to each of the 3 losses. That’s probably what he meant.

  24. binarysolo

You people are nuts. First of all it’s not yet official Williams is transferring. Second, even if he is, no one said he’s even considering UK.

This is like when JJ Weaver said he’s gonna wait until February to sign and everyone went bananas. Just chill guys, enjoy the signings we got today.

  25. Wade

That ship has sailed! You burn us twice and bc Miami has a bad yr you jump ship! No thank you! Character flaws!

  26. notFromhere

None of the dbags who said they wouldnt take him are big football fans. They may be big UK fans and like football, but no good, football loving fan is stupid enough to say no to great players who want to be here. Only a handful of really negative fans would be that ignorant.

If he wants to come here, we take him. He still has to earn the job. The CATS have to have the best throughout their roster to beat the best in the SEConference. If the kid made a mistake going to Miami, so what. We’ve all made worse mistakes.

    1. jaws2

Waaaaay to logical for the KSR site!!!

  27. highway119

Don’t want him. Two time commit who didn’t want to be here now is not happy with the team he left us for. What happens when he doesn’t lock his situation here? It just shows a lack of commitment and loyalty and perseverance. The Talent May certainly be there but if Stephen Johnson taught us anything it’s that heart is a better indicator of success than Talent. The whole recruitment process and this recent transfer decision tells me all I need to know about his character. Therefore I don’t want him and we don’t need him.

  28. Cmstew502

    Well that would be disappointing

  29. bcon39

When joker was here we got that wanted to be here because that was there only power 5 offer and that worked out great for us. Yes Stephen Johnson was gritty and that’s awesome, but those guys aren’t always successful. Billy jack Haskins was gritty but we one what 2 or 3 games. In major D1 football u have to have talent period.

  30. Thetruthshallsetbennyfree

Half the fan bade on here is like I don’t care if he’s the reason we could win the east because he hurt our feelings. Shut up. If he will be the best qb on the roster then we should take him. Any elite coach would take the best option to win not have a babified hissy fit because someone held his hand then took the cheer captain to prom.

  31. satcheluk

So many guys on here probably settle for a homely girl for fear of getting rejected. Glad our coaches aren’t that way. Go get the best you can.

    1. highway119

So you take the girl that led you on and then dropped you for the popular guy, but then wanted you back when things changed? Good luck with your love life being used and abused.

  32. kjd

Pro style QB, I thought we had moved to dual threat QBs?

  33. michaelb

I don’t really get why he has to sit out two seasons concurrently if he already red shirted last year. That red shirt season wasn’t good enough? Sounds pretty dumb to have to go through that . I don’t think a kid should have to sit out any time for a transfer for a legit reason in my mind
