Fire up the brownie machine (do football players get brownies?): it’s Kash Daniel’s birthday! The Paintsville native turns 21 today.
Last season, the 6’1″ then-sophomore linebacker played in all 13 games. The most memorable moment? It has to be his gutsy first down against Missouri. The Tigers had just tied the game up at 34 points after a 75-yard touchdown when Coach Dean Hood decided to go for it on 4th and one on the Kentucky 44-yard line. Daniel received the snap, rushed six yards on a fake punt and gave the Wildcats a first down during a crucial part of the fourth quarter. The first down led to Austin MacGinnis’ 53-yard field goal and the Cats’ victory.
Off the field, he’s also a likable guy, spending his time bass fishing with Landon Young or working local football camps. Oh yeah, and he even gets Coach Cal to say things like this:

Happy birthday, Kash!
