The bye week is happening at the right time for Kentucky’s starting center.
Drake Jackson strained his groin in the first half of Saturday’s game against Texas A&M. He was able to return to action but played sparingly. Mark Stoops provided an update on Jackson’s status after today’s practice.
“Drake was not out here today. He’ll be out a few days. Hopefully he’ll be back next week. Not sure how long, but it should be just a few days.”
Reading between the lines, the week off should be enough to get Drake back for the Vanderbilt game. However, it will not be enough time for Naasir Watkins to get healthy. Stoops does not anticipate the left tackle will return in time for next Saturday’s game at Kroger Field.
