Courtney Love named to Lott Trophy Watch List

Some news out of the football program today as linebacker Courtney Love was one of 42 players named to the 2017 Lott IMPACT Trophy Watch List.

Named after Pro Football Hall of Famer Ronnie Lott, the Lott Trophy is given to the player who exhibits the same characteristics Lott embodied during his distinguished career: Integrity, Maturity, Performance, Academics, Community and Tenacity (IMPACT). Love does all of that, while returning for another year after starting in all 13 games and ranking third on the team in tackles with 76 in 2016.

Off the field, Love was named to the 2016 SEC Academic Honor Roll and graduated in May with a degree in community and leadership development. He is currently working on a second degree in communications and serves as one of UK football’s Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) representatives.

Go Courtney.

This is the kind of outstanding young man we need to build the Kentucky football program on.

My wife and I met Courtney last year and spent about 30 minutes with him. He talked about the opportunities he has, his family, his teammates, and the coaching staff. In our brief meeting, he certainly appeared to us to be a person with integrity and character.
