Cole Mosier will play in the Alliance of American Football

Cole Mosier will play professional football.  The former Kentucky left tackle announced he has signed to play for Memphis in the new Alliance of American Football.

The AAF is a new professional spring football league that will begin play in February of 2019.  Founded by Charlie Ebersol and Bill Polian, the eight-team league will broadcast their games on CBS.  The head coach of the Memphis team is Hall of Fame linebacker from the ’85 Chicago Bears, Mike Singletary.  Other big names, like Steve Spurrier, will lead teams in Orlando, Salt Lake City, Birmingham, Atlanta, Phoenix, San Antonio and San Diego.

Mosier was a walk-on from Walton-Verona that fought to earn a scholarship at Kentucky.  He was poised to play his way into the NFL, until a 2017 preseason ACL injury prematurely ended his Kentucky career.

Kentucky fans now have another reason to watch football this spring.  Hopefully Mosier can use this opportunity as a spring board into the NFL.

Good luck to him and I hope his rehab got him back or better than he was before the injury.
