Former Auburn football player and current SEC Network analyst Cole Cubelic has been speaking nicely of Kentucky over the past few weeks. This morning, that trend continued as he tweeted out his opinion on all of the SEC team’s. On the Cats, he said:
“KENTUCKY: Terry Wilson continues to impress. Adds explosive component to the Cats offense. That’s 245+ rush yards in all three games this fall. Over 500 yds with zero turnovers shows me comfort level of offense improving. Paint will be traded this weekend!”
I have grown to respect Cubelic more and more over his time at the SEC Network. I think he really understands the game of football and does a great job at regurgitating information in a way that people can understand it.
I do think he is spot on here as well. While it was against Murray State, the offense did look good yesterday as it did against Florida. If they can continue to improve going into this week’s game, I really do like our chances at home.
Kentucky’s next opponent, Mississippi State, was also featured in Cubelic’s recap. On the Bulldogs, he said:
“MISSISSIPPI STATE: 3rd best team in the league. Physically dominant. Two really good QBs. More dynamic at the specialty spots. Will be scary if Fitz co tinues to progress on intermediate stuff.”
Third best team in the league? That is a big statement from the analyst. I’m guessing he says that the Bulldogs are right behind Alabama and Georgia to claim that third spot. Other than that, I think his analysis is spot on. We learned last year that Nick Fitzgerald is one of the better quarterbacks in the SEC and could give the Cats trouble again this week.
