CJ Conrad will not participate in the NFL combine this week due to a heart issue. The news is a surprise to everyone, especially Conrad.
Doctors ruled the former Kentucky tight end ‘medically disqualified’ from combine activities on Friday afternoon after they heard something abnormal in his heart during a physical. Conrad said the news came as a complete shock, and that he has never had any heart problems in the past.
He is already on his way back to Lexington, where he will go through further testing to determine the problem. He hopes he will be cleared to participate in UK’s Pro Day on March 22 in Lexington.
“I feel like I’ll be fine and overcome this,” Conrad told KSR. “It’s just another step in my journey.“
Fingers crossed that this isn’t a serious issue and that he still gets an opportunity to prove his worth to NFL teams and can live out his NFL dream.
