The Kentucky Wildcats may have just found their kicker for the class of 2021.
Boyle County 8th grader Jackson Smith absolutely crushed a 51-yard field goal attempt in the Rebels’ last game.
Watch the tape below:
Sign him up, Stoops.
Off a block. Not the same
I feel sorry for you… Give the kid some credit, that’s crazy.
I’ll give him credit but if you have ever kicked before there is a huge difference… the loft you can get off a block is crazy.
True, but he’s an EIGHTH GRADER. If he’s nailing 51-yarders off a block now, imagine what he’ll be able to do after four more years of growth, conditioning, improved technique…
Here’s hoping the kid can find his way to a top-flight kicking coach/camp and continue to develop his ability.
Did you guys miss the part about being an 8th grader? Block or no block that’s still impressive. I’d give you guys 3 kicks from that distance. Move to wherever you shank it, try again(x2), and I’d bet you wouldn’t score.
Wow! With ease!
Jackson is Andy Smith’s son, Andy was the kicker for UK during the last couple of Tim Couch years. He is an outstanding athlete just like his dad. Jackson wears #14, which was his dad’s number on the UK team. Way to go Jackson! He also plays the entire game on both sides of the ball…and then kicks a 51 yarder.
I saw this live at Bryan Station. It was very impressive. It should also be known that this was an 8th grade State Championship game. Corbin ended up beating Boyle in a good one.
Was this a middle school game? Sounded like the announcer mentioned Corbin. Also, no mention of Jackson Smith on Boyle County’s football roster. Just wondering.
