Big news for your favorite football player today as Kentucky running back Benny Snell has been named to the preseason watch list for the 2018 Walter Camp Player of the Year award. The Walter Camp award is college football’s fourth-oldest individual honor and it is given annually to the sport’s player of the year, regardless of position.
The news came not long after Snell learned he is a preseason candidate for the Doak Walker Award, given to the nation’s top running back, and the Maxwell Award, given to the college Player of the Year. He also earned a First Team All-SEC spot by the media in its preseason voting.
The Walter Camp list will be narrowed to 10 semifinalists in November and the winner will be announced at the college football awards show in December.
