Mum’s the word on Kentucky’s quarterback situation ahead of the Arkansas game.
A day after Mark Stoops said Sawyer Smith felt “significantly better,” Eddie Gran kept his comments on the position brief following Tuesday’s practice.
“In regards to the quarterback situation, everybody practiced today, everybody threw and Coach Stoops addressed it,” said Gran.
When asked how they performed in said practice, Gran responded, “Good,” before diverting his attention to the offense in general. Quarterbacks coach Darin Hinshaw did not divulge too many more details either.
“We talk about all of the fundamentals of playing the position and again, we’ve got to take care of the ball at quarterback. That’s not been the case the last three games and that has to be the case,” Hinshaw said. “That’s been stressed in our room and we’ve got to take care of the football.”
When the topic came up to Lynn Bowden, he simply replied, “I’m ready to play football.”
Bowden’s poker face was a little bit better than Vince Marrow’s. “I don’t know nothing about him playing quarterback. Now high school, when I seen him in high school he was pretty good.”
